Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe hotel is MASSIVE so after my early morning arrival, I wasn't a fan of the four mile (exaggerated, yes) walk to my room. And woe betide if you forget something and have to go back.... I suppose you get your steps in.
Breakfast included a wide variety of fresh fruit, juices, cereals, pastries, cooked food and despite having lots of guests, I felt well looked after each day. I also liked that breakfast segued into lunch, being served until noon daily.

JapanThe hotel has been built for more than 50 years and may give the impression of being old-fashioned to some people, but the value of this hotel far exceeds that.
The design is different from other hotels, with an entrance featuring a pond with artificial waves and a mixture of pink and yellow objects. I was impressed by how friendly all the staff were and how they worked while maintaining an appropriate distance. Established in 1968, it has already been built for more than 50 years, so although it looks old, I didn't really notice it as maintenance was always being done.

CanadaWish it had a spa but there’s many in the area to choose from!
It’s at a great intersection so you are steps away from Parc Gandhi (great for runners), and also a short bike ride or Uber away to condessa. And if you choose to stay in Polanco you are in a quiet area and can walk anywhere. The hotel is super chic, the amenities were great (I used the gym, the pool, and the fifth floor executive lounge). Everyone treats you so kindly and helpfully. The beds were so comfortable and the water pressure is good and gets very hot.

United Statesthe hotel is not centrally located but is walkable to the main attractions.
The room is very spacious, the bathroom has all the amenities and a very large shower. The room was in the shade so we could not enjoy the bright weather but it kept the room cool.

United KingdomSome might find bedrooms dated but we liked the authenticity and the bathroom was very modern. Far from the historic centre (but close to beautiful Chapultepec park and several excellent museums. )
Really interesting funky hotel built for 1968 Olympics with interesting architecture. Lovely central garden with a pool which is the perfect oasis from the busy city. Has several restaurants ( although expensive and a bit sterile) and the breakfast was fantastic ( included on our room rate). Huge (700 rooms) but very well run and never felt crowded despite being full

United StatesIt’s quite an immense layout, so walking time to your room can be lengthy. The doors to the rooms have a lot of gap at the top and latch side. This lets in a lot of hallway light all night and makes for a bit of noise when folks are outside.
They have very nice restaurants in the complex. My garden view room had no traffic noise - only the songs of birds! The coffee shop in the lobby area is also spacious and well-stocked.

United StatesRoom: Sound insulation leaves a lot to be desired. I stayed in a room facing the street. Noise from the street can easily be heard as can voices and water flows from the next room and the hallway. As in all hotels, there are occasional noisy people passing late at night and even some loud staff. Details: the towel rack in the bathroom is old and broken. Light switches in the room are oddly configured, and not practical. Pool: The water temperature is way too warm for a real swim, and not refreshing during the warm hours of the day (in January!). It closes at 7:00 pm, just when tourists return from activities and would love to dive in. There is scarce staff attendance during the day around the pool. Broken glass and cigarette butts were left right by the pool for at least two hours before anyone picked them up.
This hotel is grand in many aspects, and its architecture is warm, lively, and comfortable. Overall, it feels like a five-star, but some things could be improved to make it a real five-star experience (see below). It is located in a safe and quiet neighborhood, and if you intend to visit some art and archeology museums, they are within walking distance. However, it is difficult to get around CDMX in public transportation, esp. since the nearest subway stop is closed for renovation for a whole year. Buses are confusing and metro buses (an 8 min walk to station Gandhi) can get very busy. Uber is your best bet (and affordable, inc. to/from the airport). There are very few eating options directly outside the hotel. But you can walk about 20 minutes to the restaurant area, for example on C. Río Lerma. The rooms are super spacious, even oversized like everything here. So an average person like myself feels a bit like Gulliver – it’s fun. The fittings are in very good condition and have a 1960s vintage design aspect. Sleep quality: The bed was great and the blackout curtains too, but poor sound insulation spoils the fun. Breakfast is enormous, including fully cooked fare. Don’t expect fresh vegetables and as anywhere in Mexico, be careful of green leaves and berries if you have a weak stomach. Is it worth including it in the room rate in advance? Only if you can eat a full meal in the morning. The hotel has a (rare) rectangular pool, big enough to swim laps in, and this one is set in a beautiful garden (but note some issues below). There is likely better value for $ in CDMX but if you're looking for good modern architecture, this is for you.

PeruThey had to fix the shower’s water pressure on the first day.
The hotel is an iconic example of modern architecture by Mexican architect Legorreta in collaboration with Barragan. The public areas like the garden and pool are beautifully done. And the pink sculptural wall in the facade was done by Mathias Goeritz. The hotel is very well kept and the staff is very friendly and welcoming.
