Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

This place was perfect and the folks who work at Casa Ceiba are top notch. The views from the rooms and property are great and it is located in a very quiet area which is important to us. It is a small, initimate hotel and being adults only is a real added bonus. From the moment we walked in the front door to when we left they treated us like family. :) Vanessa and Paulina work the front and are so warm and friendly. Whatever you need, they will do their very best to accommodate you. The food in the restaurant is excellent and Mario is a master bartender ;) I hardly ever drink cocktails, but I couldn't pass his up! Our server, Ludo, was full of interesting info about the area and Mexican history. We also met the night man who was wonderful to chat with over our morning coffee! The AC in our room worked well which was welcome. We throughly enjoyed our stay at Casa Ceiba and would love to return next time we are in the Hualtulco area. Thanks guys.

GermanyThe internet is not the strongest. If you have to take a video call for work, that might be a challenge. The water from the shower was not always hot.
Casa Ceiba is a real Oasis were you can relax and enjoy your holidays to a maximum. The breathtaking views of the sea and the pool are stunning. We had an amazing time here. The lemon tart at breakfast was very delicious and the staff went over and beyond to take care of anything we asked for. We even got some kits that included tents for the beach which allowed us to go to the remote beach just beneath the hotel. I will definitely come back!!!!

SwedenThe walk to the beach is a little tricky but at the same time a reminder that you are in the tropics close to a jungle!
This is a nice place because of the wonderful view, the nice rooms and the great food. But what makes it outstanding are the people working here !! The gardener , cleaning lady , waiter, bartender ,chef, receptionist, manager and the owner all makes this in to an absolutely wonderful place to stay at!! Helpful, happy and professional in a very, very comfortable way! This is a place to escape the rest of the world and just relax!

CanadaAccess to the beach has been blocked by a newer hotel built on the beach and their staff are not so accommodating. There is still a way to get to it but a bit of a trek. Hopefully Casa Ceiba will gain access again, perhaps with government help. There are other amazing deserted pristine beaches a short hike away.
Beautiful accommodations and view. Exceptional staff and service. Great pool. Overall one of the nicest places I’ve ever stayed.

Rooms are large, beds very comfortable & the pool is lively. Located near great beaches & not far from Crucecita, charming old town. Highly recommend!

United StatesI wouldn't say I didn't like this but a couple of things to be aware of. Make sure you have your confirmation from booking dot com about your rate. There was a little confusion when we checked in but the rate booked well in advance on this site was honored. The staff was good about getting that sorted out. As far as the included breakfast, make sure you understand that's pastries, a fruit plate with a bit of yogurt and granola and coffee and juice. If you want something more substantial you pay for it off the restaurant menu. The food at the hotel restaurant is OK. Some things good, a couple of things ordered not as much.
What we liked about Casa Ceiba is that the staff was extremely friendly, welcoming, hard-working, and dedicated to our comfort and making it the most positive experience possible. The grounds of the hotel are pretty with flowers and palm trees and the architecture you might expect from a boutique hotel in Mexico. The pool is nice and the staff at the bar makes excellent drinks. The rooms are clean, tastefully decorated and the showers have hot water with good water pressure. The location is quiet which is nice and it is approximately 15 minutes by car to the center of La Crucecita.

CanadaEven though they made it clear it was fruit in the morning that never changed the entire 14 days we were there. The lunch and supper menu is good but the portions will leave you hungry for more. The room chairs that they have on the patios are not very comfortable but since we are in our mid-sixties they might be comfortable for someone younger. Being Canadian we like our coffee a lot and the coffee at Casa Ceiba is probably a 3 or 4 out of 10 and never hot enough. We think this could easily be fixed. You can get a Americano that is much better but that will cost you $45 Peso a coffee. The drinks that we had at the bar were excellent but a little pricy compared to in town.
We loved our stay at Casa Ceiba. The staff are incredible and most speak English quite well and being in Mexico it is expected that we speak Spanish but having staff being able to speak English was so nice. The grounds are clean and well kept and the pool was amazing. The rooms are clean and comfortable and well laid out. The drinks at the bar are amazingly too good...lol The beaches are close with a little bit of a walk and the trails going down to the beach are not for anyone that has any disability.

CanadaEven though we had a room with private pool, we did not use it much as it was not as private as expected. While Casa Ceiba has no beach access, there are beautiful beaches just a 10 minute walk away (playa Arena; we had the entire beach to ourselves).
Exceptional views, beautiful setting and (super clean) quiet grounds. Only a 15 minute car ride into La Crucecita. Breakfast was small, but enough (exceptional presentation). Beautiful sunrises. Restaurant serves amazing food while enjoying the stunning views. Staff very attentive wanting to make your stay exceptional. Loved the infinity pool.
