Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThere wasn't anything we didn't like once we had accepted it was exactly what it says - basic. Was a little pricey for a shed with a lightbulb but we were in a peak weekend and they had availability
I have reviewed this very fairly as it was what it says on the tin - basic so don't go with any other expectations more than that. very comfy bed, quiet location and decent toilets/showers. Maybe one slight tweak would have been a bit more than 1 light in the pod. Unless you have a torch you have zero visibility in the bedroom. Very friendly communications and excellent location for the tulip fields, also close enough for some great restaurants

United KingdomBack to basics is a very good value wooden tent. The shared toilets and shower-room were very clean. There are plenty of covered and open air seating areas for everyone staying on the site, and there is a wood burning stove in the 'tent' if it gets cold.

United KingdomUnfortunately the position of the tent was right next to the main road with only trees separating it. It seemed to be a fairly quiet country road by day but at night we were woken multiple times by the thunder of large vehicles accelerating which was deafening. This made it impossible to get a decent nights sleep. It was such a shame as everything else was near perfect.
We had a warm welcome from the owner and loved the layout of the campsite. The tent had everything we needed and the electric blankets were an added bonus that we definitely needed as the temperature really drops at night. Our 3 children loved the trampoline and football area and made friends with other kids. It’s a great little campsite.

NetherlandsThe bathrooms were filthy, and the grounds smelled of sewage. It's called "back to basics," which I understand, but the moldy smell in the "rooms" was really unpleasant, and some light near the bed would have been very nice. All in all, way too expensive for one night.

FranceThe pellet charge in winter is steep and the pellet furnance roars loudly all night and beeps when there are no more pellets. The 'room' was farily dusty which was a problem as some of our party had allergy issues. I would not recommend in sinter or spring as it's quite chilly
ORIGINAL ! In a old farm, we got to sleep in a horse box ! The place was so-so clean and it would have been really nice in summer (the temperature was cold) - the provided pellet oven roared loudly all night and even started to beep when pellets ran out... The personal is ADORABLE ! This is clearly more of a summer stay with kids. Eco-friendly but very "roots"

FranceWe slept in one of the stables and it was quite dusty which isn't great when you have asthma. The heating with pellets is quite noisy during the night (and the "no more pellets alarm" went off in the middle of the night) and does not really manage to heat up the place. Toilets are outside. It's nice but >>>very<<< roots. NOt for everyone.
The concept is interresting, housed in a horse farm, with wooden houses. The place is really nice and the welcome is great. But it's not for everyone.

SpainInformation about no electricity was indeed included in the description, but a bit hidden among many other details, so you don't really notice it until you book the non-refundable room and the host emails you with that information. Option to upgrade to a room with electricity is given, but at extra cost... if you want to give people the oportunity to not get disappointed, either enable free cancellation, or include the no electricity information on the main site. Hut was equiped with wood chucks to make fire, but no lighter or paper or any possible way to actually light the fire unless you have a lighter yourself (or know how to rub sticks...) Toilets and showers were dirty, and not working fine, one toilet not working, one shower not having hot water, but mainly, it was all dirty, not cleaned before receiving hosts that have paid too much for such a poor quality place. Mattresses were uncomfortable, and hut had leaks (it was raining a lot and water came through the roof). If you hate spiders and other bugs...this is not your place, they were everywhere, even in the bed. Construction was not well made, it did not even seem to be finished, with sharp end points of the nails coming through the walls, a bit dangerous in my opinion. No extra blankets were left, and considering the poor insulation of the place, it would be nice to have some extra warmth. Definitely not worth the high price we paid for such a place.
Not many positive things about the place, as it did not seem to be ready to host people yet. Very expensive for the poor quality received.
