Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe bed frame was metal so you could cut yourself getting into bed. The bathroom light are motion sensors which would turn off the lights every 5 minutes even when you are in the bathroom.
Breakfast was lovely and the staff were attentive. We stayed in the letter times and the view was amazing looking out of the hotel

BelgiumThe beds are not comfortable. Also the shower curtains are dirty and don't keep the water out from coming in the rest of the bathroom.

SerbiaIt would be nice if there would be a shared kitchen for people looking for a more traditional hostel stay. The price is definitely more on the expensive side, there weren't many people at the beginning of November staying in the 8 bed dormitory.
Well, staying on a ship was a special experience. The main deck was nicely decorated and pleasant to spend time at. Don't worry about the location, the ferries are nearby, free and offer a unique experience - you start off every day by crossing IJ (well unless you choose to stay north)!

GermanyThe staff is very friendly and helpful. The location is amazing, the bar is very good and serves tasty drinks. This is my first hostel experience and it was actually much better in comparison to what I thought before.

Its a ship converted into hotel. So don't expect a hotel like comfort. If you like to get the experience of living in a ship converted into hotel then its perfect,

United KingdomThe bunk beds are honestly horrible to sleep on. If your on bottom bunk you can’t sit up as it is too close to the top bunk. Only one pillow was horrible to sleep with. No kettle or any form of drink making things. The vending machine is really overpriced. The buffet breakfast didn’t have enough choice and the bacon was extremely fatty and greasy.
The staff where very friendly. All of them. Full of smiles and happy to see us. The duvets were lovely and thick. The windows opening fully was an absolute bonus. A decent drink section in the bar downstairs with tables that have charger ports in them. That was fantastic.

IranHowever, it's worth noting that the rooms lacked sound insulation, and we could occasionally hear noises from adjacent rooms. Although smoking is prohibited in the rooms, there were instances where we could detect cigarette odors.
The reception staff's behavior during check-in and check-out was exceptionally friendly. It's highly recommended to make reservations through Booking; otherwise, securing a room directly might be challenging. We followed this advice and were able to get a room on the spot, thanks to their guidance. The hotel's proximity to the central train station made commuting convenient, especially with the frequent ferry service to the central station every ten minutes. We had a fantastic view of the canal, which added to the charm of our stay. One of the highlights was the snooker table on the ground floor and the bar area, providing us with enjoyable moments. Overall, we were satisfied with our stay at this hotel."

Czech RepublicOverall, breakfast was nice, but it is the little things: horrible coffee, only one cheap kind of cheese – one would expect better when in the Netherlands!
Great value for money. Perfect location, just a ferry ride from the central railway station. Interesting and authentic experience. Clean and practical room with double bunk beds. Decent breakfast.

United KingdomNo Aircon means the room was quite hot, so wouldn't recommend in hot weather. Bathroom was very small and shower wasn't great, but it's a boat so to be expected.
Comfortable and efficient in an extremely good location, in the interesting NDSM district and right next to the quick and free ferry to Centraal station that runs every 15 minutes. Good value as Amsterdam goes.

IrelandRoom was sparse for price. Beds were comfortable but felt a bit tight in the bottom bunk (I may just be getting old). No tea/coffee making facilities. Breakfast was fine as mentioned however for €12p.a and €8.50 p.c. it was still costing a family of 4 c. €40 a day and the only hot foods were scrambled eggs and bacon as well as boiled eggs. Orange juice was very watery, apple juice was very sweet. Had we cancelled the booking and rebooked it the day before we could have saved €100 but I didn't see it on time that was annoying as it would have covered 2 days of breakfast. Probably should just have gone to the supermarket for the food if I thought about it.
It was clean, location was fine, the ferry ride was 10-15 minutes which is fine when it's dry. Also the ferry cross was free which is great. The area seems to be up and coming. Close to a supermarket which was helpful to keep overall Amsterdam costs down, nice restaurants and interesting arts displays all within walking distance. Breakfast was fine which a nice choice of cold foods. Staff were friendly and helpful. It was surprisingly quiet for so many rooms and being right next to the ferry.
