How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Beds are not that comfortable, specially for the third person, the bed was way too soft and wired.
The host was very nice and friendly. Location was perfect. Although we had a room with a shared bathroom, it was completely fine, clean and it was not crowded at all. Room is spacious with a nice balcony.

You have to walk 20 meters down the corridor to get to the private bathroom. You can hear everything going on in other rooms. There were stains on the bedding and towels. The hair dryer was not working.
The location of the hotel was good. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

The private external bathroom doesn’t lock from outside so anyone can use it . And they did, cause we found the flush broken two times when we would come back from our walk . The doors shut very loudly . The windows don’t close fully so cold air comes in. Very small

Pillows were a bit lumpy…
Good sized room, basic, but very clean. A good sized shower, room is spacious, and the staff - especially the Irish lady who lent us umbrellas were friendly. Great location for sightseeing on the canals.

The windows were old and in combination with the humidity, rooms got pretty cold especially during the night. Also you cannot use their shared WC on the first floor if you’re even a little claustrophobic.
The staff was mostly polite, especially the gentleman with the glasses.

The staff was so lovely and nice. Always asked if we were okay? Gave tips and was interested in what our plans were each day.

We wanted a double bed but there was no one available. They tried to make a double bed by combining two small beds, but it didn't work.
The people in charge were very friendly. It has a central location and allowed us to walk to many places. The hotel was quite clean.

small, shared bathrooms but still acceptable ones, just needed to get used to it. Showers were good all in all though
Staff's hospitality and availability, they're all great. Also, thankfully we discovered that being so close to the city center is critical because public transportation is unreasonably pricey, so that's a big plus for the hotel

The only little complaint, we didn’t get any shower gel or shampoo and the soap was almost empty.
Located in nice area, everything was so close. Clean and warm apartment. I want to praise the staff, they were very hospitable and even let us check in earlier. The woman at the reception was so communicative and want to help about city.

The staff lady was particular, they gave a weird receipt and I had issues communicating with her.
the room was quite small but fairly clean (nothing extraordinarly nice, but if you are planning a short stay and have low expectations it is fine)

The female owner was very rude, made us want to leave the hotel. We didn't feel welcome at all. On the other side, the male owner was really nice and we liked him a lot.
Hotel was clean, the balcony was pretty and the location was great.

Dont like answering these sort of questions but im im honest the only thing i didnt like was 2 slightly different single beds been pushed together to make a double bed. Would i stay here again? Yes!

It is quite narrow and you have to get use to the shared toilet and bathroom. But as I said for the price you pay this is alright.
The value you get for the money you pay is really good. It is located very close to the center and the famous streets and canals.

The rooms were very hot and the fan provided did not do anything to help this unfortunately. Other than this, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would return.
Great location & price. Booked hesitatingly due to a few bad reviews however we did not have bad experience at all. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and comfortable.

Not a real 2 person bed, too soft. Miss the label "don't disturb" when you want to stay late in the room. Toilet too small for tall people. Coffee and breakfast a little bit too expensive to be tempted.
The perfect location, staff is very nice. A lot of common bathrooms. Ideal for young couple and traveler for the week end.
