Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThere were some noisy renovations going on during my stay which started as early as 8am on some days - although not during the stated 'quiet hours' of 10pm to 7am.
Every single staff member I met was friendly, professional and helpful. The location is great for Den Haag HS, which is convenient for my needs. The bed was comfortable. The room was clean. It was cheaper than the more centrally located other hostels I've stayed in the Hague but was of a comparable standard and quality. It will likely be my first choice the next time I'm in the Hague.

Czech RepublicThere was everything in good quality, also receptionist open the door automaticaly when see somebody coming to the hostel from guest, they remembered guests. But hostel was semi-empty. Hostel room was for 4 and was a bit small cause was really full. Nevertheless during December with coats, jackets, sweaters and suitcases was pretty full too. One guy from come cca in midnight like a new guest fresh after check in, it was also in Amsterdam in stay-okay, that one guy came to room in 1 am like a new fresh guest after check in. Little mystery cause everybody was surprised a little. I was there shortly cca 2 nights
This hostel has very good location, big lobby with terrace, glasshouse inside, restaurant, comfy staff, terrace above channel is open probably only in Summer time. I was there during December, so what terrace was closed. Location close to the Haag Central Railway station cca 1-2 km, half hour. Center of the city is relatively far, but that's why location is calm and silent, only rush roads around. Hostel has big restaurant and bar, but breakfast was individual that's time (December). Very unusual but if you don't want something unrealistic, they made relatively everything, what we had in our minds. Cca there was 5-7 guests for breakfast. It was brilliant from them. Hostel has glasshouse (full of flower) with books and chilling zone inside and good collection of various famouse furniture (f.e. egg) inside their interior, lobby. Everything was clean and in good care. Receptionists were kind and barman too, gave me one beer gratis cause had everything close and shut, during cleaning his work and leaving bar. Brilliant, cause I was pretty thirsty after come there.

GermanyThe breakfast was average for the price. Not much choice, no toaster facility. Limited selection of bread and cheese. No pancakes!!
The rooms were nice. Sufficient spaces between beds. Large windows for ventilation. Separate shower cabin and toilet and sink. Card based entry. Easy access to public transport. Nice overview of a canal.

I like that there was a nearby train station, which I discovered after I walked from the central station! Liked being near to Chinatown.

SlovakiaThe receptionist when I first arrived to the hostel seemed a bit annoyed with my questions but it's not really a problem. I loved everything, maybe just one note - it's not that close to the centre, you still have to walk about 10-15 minutes but I actually liked it cause it was quiet there.
A really beautiful hostel, nice lobby, bar, rooms - everything there looks new and very clean. The room was probably the nicest hostel room I've ever been too. Very clean, quiet, with a comfortable bed, nice private bathroom, nice toilet, big shower. I loved that the room also featured a big mirror. The view from the window was amazing. There's a station nearby from where you can take a tram straight to the Scheveningen beach :)

SloveniaThere was a problem with the drain in both the bathrooms in our room and one of the bathroom's cleanness was questionable, I saw a small cockroach as I was taking a shower which was not ideal... The other bathroom was fine and clean though so maybe the one I used was an exception.
The beds were comfortable and the staff was very friendly, the hostel looked nice aesthetically, the location is also very good. There were lockers in the rooms where we could lock our valuables. If you don't bring a lock for the lockers, you can buy one at the reception for a relatively cheap price.

LuxembourgNo Air conditioner in the bunk bed rooms. Had to sleep with open windows. A miracle Mosquitoes didn't show up. It was uncomfortably hot at night. 😖😖😖😖 Time to finance that. 😁 Quit the trend with most hostels.
What I liked was the lounge. Big & spacious. Liked the terrace space. Breakfast was nice too. Literally near the Den Haag HS Station. Get off there. No need to go to the Central Station. 10- 15 minutes walk to the Center. When leaving the hostel turn left cross the street and just go straight ahead and you end up at the Centre.

PortugalRoom faced the canal and it was noisy - I was frequently woken up by the tram passing outside. I may have been unlucky, but the girl at the reception was really unpleasant to speak to. I felt like I was bothering her the two times I came up to her with small questions.
Nice, wide lounging area with a good terrace by the canal. Super close to the train station, free luggage storage after check-in, within walkable distance from the center.
