How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Agantuk hotel was a very pleasant surprise. Meticulously maintained, and well kept. The food is great, the location very central. Overall great experience, and very warmly recommended.

Location is quite good. There is a muslim kolony nearby to eat halal foods. Peaceful in night time. Staffs are good.

Only 1 bad thing is that the WiFi was a bit intermittent, had to connect to other rooms WiFi
Very comfortable beds, provides laundry service, restaurant and bar but did not utilise this. In the room they also provide toothbrushes and toothpaste which is nice. Rooms were clean and the staff were very nice.

Getting from Thamel centre it’s a little bit out of the way (no alley to cut through so have to go to the ring road and back on yourself), the AirPlay feature on the TV didn’t work, and the view from one of my rooms was bad… but these are really just little comments.
For the price we paid I honestly couldn’t believe how nice this hotel is compared to others in Kathmandu. Staff were incredibly helpful, food was delicious, they offer baggage storage for when you’re on a trek, it’s clean and fairly modern, good shower and rooms have TV (with Netflix) and kettle.

Sleepers and towels need to change.
As it's being advertised as a budget luxury hotel it is value for money. The staff is friendly and all good, even they let me check out 3 hrs later and didn't charge a penny.

The hotel's location. Its take 10 minutes for me to find the hotel since it was just 20 metres from me.

The room I was initially allocated was not what I had booked and there was problems with the internet, but the staff were very accommodating in changing my room.
The room was very quiet and comfortable. A little off the beaten track for Thamel.

I didn’t find anything that I dislike
I recently had the pleasure of staying at The Serendipity Haven, a boutique hotel nestled in the heart of a charming coastal town. Check-in was a breeze, thanks to the incredibly warm and professional staff. They greeted me with genuine smiles and a refreshing welcome drink, making me feel instantly at home.
