Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyNot so easy to find the meeting point via GPS but after a few extra minutes we made it. Nice staff, clean family tent. We liked the quiet atmosphere and the dinner was okay. (Info: No breakfast during Ramaddan.) Keep in mind to bring enough water and snacks.

NetherlandsMaher, Suheyl and Badr made our stay in the Arab desert camp so good! We had a lovely tent with great view over the desert. We did a dune bashing tour and were able to share costs with other tourists. Badr was so kind to provide us some things to eat upfront for iftar as we were fasting and did not have anything with us and dinner time was only at 7.30 pm. They drive the 4x4 very good and provided us a great dune bashing experience. Even made us a camp fire on the night and took time to tell us about the life style in the desert and living conditions. They were so kind and helpfull. Sakip ( the Bangladeshi guy) served us very good as well and tried talking and telling us stories. You can not drive to the camp with your normal car. With a 4x4 you could, but you need experience driving in the sand. It is very hilly and you need to know how to handle. The pick up will cost you 10 OMR for a return for the drive.

United KingdomThe camp is located at the feet of some high dunes with great views. The tents were clean, had a shower and toilet ( externally attached) and a large hotel size bed with fresh crispy sheets. Exceeded my expectations. The personnel was very friendly and welcoming. I would definitely recommend for a unique experience.

SpainWouldn’t say it is something negative about the stay, more like a recomendation to everyone. Do not expect a long, hot shower. It’s quite chilly at night.
It is exactly what you expect, extremely comfortable room. Toilet is adjacent, good condition. Honestly, it is a tent in the middle of the desert. What do you expect? Could not get more real - sand all around, not a noise, moon and stars. Complete freedom to walk around. Hosts were great, told us about the culture and how the desert communities live.

First of all everybody was super nice, welcoming and friendly. The camp is small (like 6 tents only) so not crowded. You can enjoy silence :) The tents are very clean even if they are in the desert. Each tent has it's own bathroom which is super cool, with shower, toilet, sink and small cleaning stuffs (soap, tooth pasta, etc). I highly recommend to take the breakfast and dinner options they are very delicious and it is very nice to have them surrounded by dunes :) We also took the dune bashing. It was fun. On the second night we had a rainfall. The staff was very kind they brought the dinner into the tent in the middle of the rain. They also checked if the tent is not leaking (wasn't, each tent has a waterproof cover).

PolandWe choose a night with fullmoon so we could not see many stars.
We had a great time in the camp. The location close to the dunes was perfect and we could watch a beautiful sunrise. Both Mohammed in the office and the guys in the camp were really friendly, helpful and considerate. We had a campfire and we could enjoy some traditional singing. Breakfast and dinner were plenty and delicious, especially the spiced rice. Totally recommend the experience.

FranceWe had a very special experience in Arab Desert Camp: we arrived in the camp with a superb sun. This is a very small camp, and the tents were on top of the dunes, and surrounded by them. This was just like in a dream ! we were runing in the dunes like children :-) ! Diner and songs next to the fireplace were great as well, and then we expericed a storm in the desert. Arab Desert Camp staff were absolutely great, took care of us an additional day as the road were not practicable anymore, and we enjoyed and unplanned additional day in the camp, and took the opportunity to book another dunebaching experience: you need to go to that camp and to do the dunebaching that will bring you to incredible place to admire the sunset. We will definitely come back if we have the chance to come again in Oman !

The tents were as expected. The adventure became more special after exceptionally heavy rains. In the middle of the night we had to leave our tent as the roof was leaking. Only 1 message to the host was enough for help. We were taken to a bungalow. Next day we were supposed to leave but due to floods that was impossible. We could stay 1 more night in the bungalow and got a free desert excursion. Lots of thanks to Mohammed and Badr!

NetherlandsThe highlight of our trip in Oman! The location is beautiful, on top of the sand dunes with a great view. The tent is comfortable and clean. The bathroom is very convenient, it even has a small shower. There's both breakfast and lunch available, both very good quality. After dinner we sat around the fire, with tea and coffee and traditional Bedouin music. It was quiet in the camp after 9 pm. Dinner was 5 OMR and breakfast 3 OMR. We drove with our normal car to the office in Bidiya. From there it's a 5 minute drive to the camp with the 4x4 transfer offered by the accomodation. It costs 10 OMR. I would recommend to arrive during daytime. It was a bit difficult to reach the office in the evening when it was dark. The accommodation offers dune bashing and camel rides. The staff is very friendly and helpful with whatever you might need. The communication was excellent, mostly via WhatsApp. At night you have a good view of the stars. In the morning it was nice to walk around and to watch the camels in the distance.

Czech RepublicVery nice location, up in the dunes, away from the main road, with only sand around. Only 5 tents, so it was very private. Dinner and breakfast was tasty, special time before dinner to watch sunset i the dunes. Our call did not get through the first time, so we had a little problem to find the location - easily said, you just need to go to Alsaif camp reception. It is perfetly located in map, just on the small hill in front of white mosque, which is just few meters after the paved road ends.
