Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Although we had our own 4x4, the staff came to lead us to the campsite. It was nicely arranged in a way we could all sleep comfortably. Dinner was great with plenty of food to eat. Shower was warm and toilet was clean.

DenmarkSaid was amazing host. Do not cheat yourself for dinner at the camp. You can walk up the Hill behind the camp and see sunrise and sunset. It is close to the city but this gives an amazing contrast between dessert I one side and city in the other of the horizon. You can see a beautiful starsky here. This place is not for a luxury, perfect clean stay but for a local experience supporting local economy and with great host. Said served us omani coffee and dates at arrival. Thank you for great stay 🙏

FranceNot much to say, it's quite rudimentary comfort but we don't come here for comfort.
Perfect for a one-night stay, beautiful location, easy to access thanks to the free pick-up organized by the host. Also Said is a very nice host, we had a lovely diner with him. The desert dunes are easily accessible and beautiful.

United KingdomThe first night we were the only guests and some friends of the host came round, I felt uncomfortable - like I was intruding on their social life.
Sandglass was exactly what it said on the tin - a basic but well located camping spot in the desert. The food was great, the hosts very welcoming and kind and a very comfortable bed for the night.

United KingdomWe loved our stay at SandGlass Camp, Said is fantastic, kind and friendly. Simple traditional bedouin tents with very comfortable and clean beds. It is a small camp which we liked and they don't charge extra to take you to the camp if you don't have a 4WD vehicle and you need to leave your car at the meeting point car park. The food was very good and plenty both at dinnertime and at breakfast. The location of the camp is good and there are no other camps in the vicinity, so you get an undisturbed night sky and stars view, very nice sand dunes behind the tents that you can easily climb for sunset and sunrise views. Said took us in his car to see his camels and after dinner he showed us the stars and entertained us with talks of his travels and interesting stories and info about Oman. I highly recommend this camp if you are after a simple, genuine desert experience.

RomaniaThe tent was nice and comfortable with just what you need: a bed and light. The host prepared a snack with fruits, a variety of dates, traditional halwa, coffee and tea for when everyone arrived. I also got to see and pet the camels, they were extremely friendly. After that I watched the sunset from the sand dunes and had dinner with everyone else which was great with lots of vegan options. Later we watched the stars and learned about different constellations.

It's a small desert camp that offers a genuine and authentic experience. Said is a great host, very informative and welcoming. He tells plenty of stories and is an avid traveler himself. We loved the food and campfire at night. The desert itself is breathtaking.

GermanyThe best part of this basic camp are the people. Siad, the host, is a social, kind and funny person that shares his knowledge about the Omani people. The camp atmosphere is like in a hostel where it’s great to connect to fellow travellers while sharing a meal or sitting around the fire.

SloveniaThe camp is close to the city and many other camps are nearby, thus no silence is available, lots of traffic echoes around.
So nice small beduin camp, beds were so comfortable, dinner was very delicious, and we have water, tea, coffe and dates available all the time. Pick up and drop off from the meeting location was with no extra charge, and it is only 10 mins drive in the desert. You can easily climb the dunes around. Said is very friendly, he explained us so much about the beduin life, desert and also showed us the stars and name them!
