Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaI wasn’t 100% happy with the door security, only a key lock, I would prefer a latch as well. Otherwise I think my stay was very reasonable for the price in Panama but I only stayed for 8 hours.
I arrived after 9pm. Rang the bell and was admitted immediately. It’s a slightly dark and dodgy looking street (Calle Oeste at intersection with Avenida Republica del Peru). The receptionist was friendly and helpful. Providing key and tv remote control. She also gave me some candy. Check out was as simple as handing back the key. The air conditioning was on when I came in the room. The room was slightly musty but neat and clean. The bed was comfortable and I slept well. The shower was a little cool (not cold but not very hot) but refreshing. Towels and soap provided but nothing else. I note here that it is safe to drink the water in Panamá (they have excellent water treatment, it tastes a little chlorinated). The location was convenient to the airport about 20-25 minutes by taxi or Uber (using the toll road). If using Uber from the airport, once you order the Uber wait as if a friend was picking you up in the passenger pick up zone (not in the parking lot) across from row 15 of the parking lot. I got a bit confused about that. Check the car plate number and show the PIN code. On arrival at your destination make sure the driver completes the trip on his/her app. I had no trouble but I heard some people found the driver wasn’t completing the trip causing double charges.

GermanyOne could hear TV running in other rooms the whole night long
The pension es located about 2.5 km from Casco Antiguo and 500 m from the sea. Panama Viejo is about 8 km. I found it convenient to walk to places of interest but admittedly it is not the prettiest areas of Panama City. Parking close to the hotel is easy and for free. There is a convenience supermarket in front, which is great to buy water. There is a loud bar next door but somehow did not hear it from the room. The room was good for its price, very spacious, about 20 m2 and really clean. Bed and pillows surprisingly comfortable. AC worked as well as good shower, light could be better. Plenty of towels and toilet paper, what I missed was a place to hang clothes. Altogether happy with offer for price.

GermanyThere is only one plug in the rooms. And in the rooms with king-size beds the WiFi does not work well because they are too far from the antenna.
The beds are very comfortable and the adress is just 5 minutes from the Metro station Santo Tomas

ColombiaDefinitely, the locations is not the best, because the neighborhood and environment around the hotel makes you feel kind of unsafe, but even though, I did not have any problem with transportation and security. Something in favor about the location is that is close to "Panamá Viejo" by car.
The cost is ok and accommodation is good enough.

IsraelThe woman in counter tried to charge me extra 10% of taxes and only gave up when I exchanged my booking app language and showed here that 24 was the "precio total". Its located in the Caledonia neighborhood which is quite close to important sites in the city and also an authentic neighborhood compared to the usual hostels. The room smelled like mold no matter how hard I tried to let air in. Also very dark and above that the main light did not work. Was Impossible to pay with my credit card that works everywhere till now. The service is given behind closed window and in general feels like a very shady place, more ment for locals that are seeking a room than to tourists, especially travellers.

United StatesThe neighborhood is dangerous and dirty. The room was dark, bad lighting. The balcony looked out on a street filled with trash, homeless people, and druggies. It felt like a sex hotel, they gave us breath mints.
The room was big and comfy. The a/c and shower worked well.

CanadaNo window for natural light. No dresser or tables for belongings. Only one chair. Only one single power outlet for charging devices. Shower fixtures old and broken. No coffee in room nor any food service. Had to ask for room to be cleaned during one week stay. Asked for extra pillows and towels but never received any.
Bed was clean and comfortable. Staff was polite. TV with multiple local channels. Security entrance provided some peace of mind.

BarbadosWhen I got there no one could find my reservation and no one spoke English. I had to stay in the lobby for over 4hrs trying to sort this out then the receptionist told me go elsewhere and come back in the morning. I contacted bookings as this was my first time to Panama and I knew nowhere, the rep from bookings was just as horrible. Eventually after 5hrs I was given a room until morning then I had to rebook. They pulled to sets of money from my card and I still haven’t been refunded because the hotel blames bookings and bookings blame the hotel. The AC couldn’t adjust it was horrible.
The property wasn’t to far from public transportation to the malls

United StatesThere were no windows in my room, except a small one in the bathroom. But, given the neighborhood, who really wants to look out their hotel room window and see hookers, vagrants, and drug dealers make a living?
I loved the heaping piles of trash amassed along the streets surrounding hotel, almost as much as the rats and vagrants foraging through them for food.

UK Virgin IslandsI did not like the size of the room that was initially given to us, but that was rectified by I guess the manager/ supervisor. Also, the internet service was very poor in our room which was on the top floor. We had to go outside of the room to make calls or message persons. There was no natural light coming into the room, which was a bummer and the lighting was not clear, There was a door with glass, leading to a balcony which was locked and we had no access. The glass on the door was blacked out with tint or paint. The AC didn't have an adjustable temperature knob, it was old and needed to be replaced, but it worked perfectly.
My son liked the blue lighting in the room, which was over the bed. The place was always clean. Every morning the cleaners were there doing their thing. No mosquitoes or flies were observed in the room. Sometimes our door remained opened for quite some time and no insects ever came in. My son said that he did see a mosquito but on the outside of the room. There was a security officer on the outside at nights when we came in and this was like around 9pm or 10pm. There was also 24hour service for the patrons. We were given a suite with a king-sized bed which was very comfortable and the hot water was a plus.

United KingdomThe location was great but the street itself is not for the faint hearted. There are lots of homeless, addicts etc. Although harmless it could be difficult for a solo female traveller or someone not used to seeing that kind of thing. Didn't encounter any issues and the property felt super secure.
The staff were really helpful considering our Spanish is not good and they gave us a late check out free of charge.
