The hotel was perfect from start to finish. The ambiance of the hotel had the feel of Porto Portugal. They had stone walls with beautiful archways throughout the lobby, bar, and restaurant. Upon arrival we were greeted promptly and offered a drink of our choice and choose the wonderful Port from Porto. Katherina could not have been nicer. She checked us in and showed us around the hotel explaining everything they had to offer. It did not end there she constantly made sure all our accommodations and interest were taken care of. This is a Five Star hotel and they have earned all five of the stars. The location is by the river Douro and all the restaurants. It is 2km away from all the major sights of Porto. The breakfast was amazing and our rooms had balconies. There is a roof deck with nice view of the city where you can grab a drink at the bar. Not only is everything perfect such as the atmosphere, rooms, and ambiance all the employees are courteous, friendly, and professional. If you are going to Porto this hotel is a must. An excellent value with a five-star staff.

Service was inconsistent. At breakfast, we weren’t made aware that items such as omelettes and Eggs Benedict were available to order , and only found out later in our stay, when we overheard other guests being told. There was also a long wait for hot drinks. Check out was very impersonal. In a 5 star hotel, would expect to be asked if we’d enjoyed our stay.

Property was absolutely stunning. A hidden little gem that seemed to just wow us from the moment we stepped inside. The staff couldn’t do enough for us and were unbelievably helpful throughout our stay… we didn’t want to leave!

Lighting in the room - could have had more (and brighter) lighting.

EVERYTHING! From the moment of arrival, the staff was friendly, extremely helpful, caring and responsive. I injured my ankle prior to arrival and they were so helpful every day with ice packs and making sure I had what I needed. The hotel itself was breathtaking when you walked in - completely transformed on the inside. Breakfast every day had every option you could think of and was very good. Room was modern, clean and comfortable - had a nice balcony with a small view of the river. Location was perfect - walking distance to everything. We will be back!!

Location - on a quiet, narrow, cobblestone street with views of the terracotta rooftops below. Lovely vista. Historic building with a beautiful contemporary design. Excellent, attentive staff. Excellent breakfast. Short walk to restaurants, bars, and attractions. Rooftop bar was delightful.

Breakfast. Coffee. Very disappointing. The spread looks good but it’s very basic. The coffee is terrible. I would ask for a double espresso with some hot water. Still not the best. They sometimes ask if you want eggs prepared by the chef. They came out cold. The blonde server is definitely not genuine. She’s being professional but you can tell that she does not like her job.

Great location either direction will lead you to a landmark. The taxi driver did not want to drive down the narrow alleyway. May have to walk a few mins if that’s the case. Rooms were very clean and the from staff were very helpful and informative.

Excellent location. Close to sights (if you are willing to climb stairs and walk hills—true of most of Porto). It quiet and feels like you are away from tourists. We didn’t realize at first breakfast was included and it is a real plus. Room was wonderful. There is a large rooftop area with nice views of the river. Staff was fabulous. Modern amenities within ancient walls.

The Restaurant for an evening meal was very slow and overpriced. I would not recommend eating there.

The breakfast was excellent and the location. The old building was very well re-furbished and created a nice atmosphere and character.

Navigation of a larger vehicle up the alley to the hotel was a challenge - the alley up to the hotel was VERY narrow Probably would have left our van at the bottom of the alley and got hotel to help bring the luggage up the alley They helped take our luggage down the alley when we left and it worked out great They may want to advertise that
