This is an old and established hotel that has carpeted floors. The carpets have not been replaced for years. The same applies to the air conditioning, which took me a whole day to get to a reasonable temp during the humid summer. The breakfast buffet does not have a salad bar and the espresso is terrible, comparable to instant coffee vending machines.

This is a big old hotel in a central location. It is a convenient place that all tour guides and taxi drivers know. There are two large supermarkets within walking distance. There is also a botanical garden and the president's mansion nearby, so the area is very safe. Depending on the room you get, you will either have a view of a huge fountain and the sea, or the mountains, with a balcony. The room size is above average. The bed is comfortable. There are three pillows per person (check the wardrobe for extras). My room included a bathtub and decent toiletries (shampoo, shower gel, soap). The bar staff is knowledgeable, fast and friendly. Meal prices are very good by European standards. Laundry service is competent. I am very happy I got this level of service despite booking less than a week before the start of my holiday.

It is a comfortable business hotel on the edge of the city. It is about 20-25 minutes walk to the downtown. Supermarkets are nearby. It is best if you have a car. The staff is very helpful.

The wifi in our wing was pretty poor and was constant lost, when the staff gave us another account lo use, it became a bit better, but this is something they need to check. We stayed a week and then the breakfast gets boring. The coffee had the industrial taste and the eggs were smelly (but not off).

The location of the hotel is great if you are to explore the island of Sao Miguel. We had 2 rooms with a connecting door with ocean and city view. Car parking around the hotel was free of charge and there is usual a place to find near by the hotel. A large supermarket is across the road, so handy if you want to stock the minibar with refreshments and snacks.

I think the carpets could use changing (or a good wet cleaning), they looked a bit stained and worn. There was one big top sheet and blanked on the double bed (I prefer individual blankets with duvets), but it seems common practice in the Azores (4 of 5 of our accommodations on the Azores used the same practice), so not a big surprise.

Very friendly, caring and helpful staff. The room was nice. Breakfast buffet was good, except for the coffee. Dinner buffet in the ground floor restaurant was also good (3 main courses plus a variety of sides, salads, fruits and desserts), staff was very serious about keeping us hydrated. Has a gym, spa and another restaurant, but we did not try these. The hotel has a garage but it was easy to park on the street close to the entrance.

The carpet looked a bit stained and worn. The furniture looked a bit old. There was one big top sheet and blanked on the double bed (I prefer individual blankets with duvets). We had a problem with the key and had to go back to the reception to get it working.

Taxi took us there from the airport in 5-10 mins. We got a room with a king sized bed. Staff was friendly and the room was clean. Late checkin (1AM) and early checkout (6AM) was not a problem (24 hour reception).

The room was clean and spacious with a nice bathroom, breakfast was yummy, and the staff helpful. About 20 min walk from the marina, a supermarket close by :)

The breakfast was somewhat unremarkable, specially the coffee in the machine was very poor. The AC was very very noisy, thankfully we had earplugs otherwise we couldn't sleep with it on. Overall I wasn't wowed by the hotel, even if I can't name anything that was particularly negative.

The cleanliness of the room was flawless, the staff was efficient and kind, it's very easy to access the area by car, there's a supermarket nearby if you need something.

The hotel was definitely not a four star as it states that it is. Perhaps the standard is different from mainland Europe. Carpet’s seemed unclean stained and most likely the original from day one(they do vacuum them)

the hotel is kind of older (furniture) and i know this old feeling from hilton hotels as well. everything was clean but at the same time seems like the textiles exists there for a long time.

I really liked the location that was near to the market, nonstop reception was great and helpful as i arrived late at night. bed was comfy and clean.

No plugs in the room aside from the ones being already used (TV, lights...). The room view was awful.
