Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

RomaniaNothing to comment about it.
Situated in the city center, but in a quiet place. It is a very modern, stylish and cozy place wit very much attention to the details. It was a pleasure to stay there. The kitchen is very large and very well equipped. You can have tee and coffee in the morning. The room is enough large for a hostel (almost the same size with the room in Ibis Budget Madrid Aeropuerto Barajas and there we paid 84 EUR, not 46 EUR and didn't have any glasses in the room). We found parking place also in the street, 20 m away.

United StatesWe loved our stay!
This is one of the nicest places we stayed in a long time. The newly renovated hostel (and the suite we were happy to stay in) has been lovingly made into a comfortable place to stay and visit the charming town of Braganca. The location is right in the middle of everything and fun to walk around and see the numerous museums and of course the castle which you can see from the hostel. The owner, Paulo makes you feel welcome and at home as soon as you arrive. The beds are comfy and the place is clean and has everything you need. Real nice kitchen area and common area indoor and out. Would love to return someday.

Russia- I was tremendously lucky with this hostel. I booked a bed in a 4-bed dorm for women, and it turned out that I was the only guest in that dorm: although, according to the host, the hostel is usually fully booked at weekends, it was a weekday in low season, so I enjoyed almost complete solitude (there were two other guests sharing another room, and that was all). The 24€ I paid were very well invested in a good night's rest. - Having a bathroom right next to the door of the ladies' dorm was very convenient, too. - Everything is very clean and looks new. - The common area is charming. The kitchen/dining room is very clean, big and comfortable, with an electric kettle, all the necessary kitchen utensils, free teabags and a plate of little pomegranates from the garden (a treat I loved). Winters can be quite cold in the North of Portugal, but the owner provided a (gas?) heater to the kitchen, so you can sit and sip your tea (or whatever...) comfortably, being warm and cosy. As for the room, the aircon was switched on on my request, so it was warm there, too. Excellent. - The Internet was good enough for a videocall, no complaints whatsoever! - The host is a very nice and welcoming gentleman. I arrived some two hours before the check-in, and he allowed me to leave my heavy rucksack there (it was arranged beforehand in the Booking chat). It was very kind of him and I was really grateful! - The location is very good: same 15 minutes on foot to Bragança bus Station, to the Castle or to the historical centre, just choose. The house is on a quiet little street, and easily found by the number 21 (see the name of the hostel :)). - All in all, I was very happy with my choice. ♥

HungaryThe double room is very small and its amenities are very basic, the number of shared sanitaires is poor compared to the number of rooms.
Room with a view, very clean, calm and quiet and the property has a nice character. Big and equipped shared kitchen.

United KingdomNo complaints!
I immediately felt at home at Inn Door 21. The communal areas are cosy, spacious and well equipped and the room had a great view over the castle. Paolo was a wonderful host, giving me tips about where to eat, what to do and how to get to the SEF office (my reason for visiting Bragança!)

SpainThe toilet situation wasn't ideal but it wasn't a real problem. Soundproofing may be an issue as we could hear other guests so when the hotel is full it might cause a problem but again it was only a slight inconvenience.
The location was fantastic as were the views. The rooms were very comfortable and warm! The beds, facilities and the hospitality were all 10/10. We would love to visit again in Spring.

Hong KongMaybe a few more toilets and showers. It wasn't busy when I stayed but if the place was fully booked, might need to wait a bit.
The host Paul did a great job of renovating this old building to a beautiful guesthouse with magnificent views of the castle. Slow season now so I was lucky enough to be upgraded to a room to myself. Big kitchen, various chill out areas, fast wifi and very clean. It was so comfortable I stayed a few more days! But even without the room upgrade; the hospitality of the host and the relaxing factor of the whole environment; I will definitely stay at this place if I visit Bragança again. 100% recommend!

TurkeyBreakfast was not included. It would have been great if we had that option. The location was quite central however the town is perched on top of a hill and we had to hike up to go there.
Our host was very welcoming and friendly. The bed was very comfortable. The room was very spacious and immaculately clean. It was great to have access to a balcony with a fascinating view of the castle and rural homes. Great lounge and terrace area.
