Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandSmall things, but not being able to check in until strictly 3pm, and lack of air freshener in the bathroom to mask the occasional sewer smell
Great showers, great breakfast, nice to have privacy in your own ‘box’

United KingdomThe location didnt have mucb except the actual LX factory itself. Not very central so had to uber to the centre every day. However ubers were generally cheaper considered to other countries.
The place had a very young artsy vibe to it. I loved the deco and how it was so clean and quiet too! Being quiet didnt mean it wasnt a social hostel, people were sitting in the common area and were easy to talk to, it was just a small hostel. The breakfast was also very good! Acommodated for my vegan friend with vegan muffins. Free sangria after 7 every night!

United Kingdomwe booked a private room with double bed. the room was nice and clean, had enough space for both of us to leave our stuff- there was a wardrobe but also a chair. the bathroom even though it was a shared one with others from the hostel was very clean, bright and the showers had hot water. we were there on Sunday so we saw a local craft market that was just outside of the hostel. quite a hipster area

New ZealandPlace located in the center of LX complex, great vibe and amazing people around. Close to public traffic, and close to the river walkway. If you have budget and even if you’re just traveling through Lisbon, this place is where you want to be!

United StatesWhere you sleep is in basically a box, which is great but can be awkward to get into because the space next to the mattress is pretty small so you can't easy "walk" into the area. The breakfast is pretty light but you do have the whole kitchen so you can easily make yourself something outside of what is provided. I was also told my some of my local friends that they didn't suggest I take the public transport in the neighborhood after dark, but I never got around to it so I can't confirm if there was anything to be aware of.
This hostel is in a great location! I loved how it was decorated and that the beds all had curtains with individual chests for belongings and lights in the area. Breakfast was included so it was easy to grab a bite to eat in the morning and then take off to explore Lisbon. The toilets and showers were great and kept really clean the entire time I was there. I was really surprised by the fact that the bathrooms had shampoo/body wash and a hair dryer (at least in the women's). If you are here on a Sunday as well they have a great market to explore which was an added bonus that I wasn't expecting when I booked!

PolandToilets could be a bit more private (not next to showers etc)
Great hostel, lots of details are well throughout-through: the beds are almost capsules, you have a locker inside, light, curtain, plenty of hooks! I stayed in 6 person female room. Eventhough it was in a busting street, our room was very quiet! the bed was already made and I had two pillows <3. There are plenty of hooks inside the showers and they are far enough from the shower head not to get your clothes wet. breakfast was nice, homemade muffins were delicious! you can ask the stuff to leave some things for your for early breakfast in case you leave early. You have to pay for the towel but it’s a nice big towel. The staff is nice and helpful as well. There is no metro but it was easy to get to/from hostel, it’s really cool with the bridge so close and you can get to the other side by bus not far as well if you want to see sandy beaches

GermanyIn one night there were construction workers in front of the dorm window who drilled and hammered. I didn't know it before and was surprised of it.
I loved the breakfast 😍 e.g. self-made muffins. The cabins are pretty cozy and you get the feeling of your own little room with privacy in the middle of the dorm.

DenmarkAt some point, there was a little bit of noise, maybe from the rooftop bar.
The bed was super comfy and for a hostel there was enough privacy. The majority of other guests were super considerate. Although the surrounding area was very lively, inside the hostel it was surprisingly calm.

United KingdomThe only negative for me was the noise on Sunday and Monday night. This is a lively location due to being inside the LX Factory (making it super handy for eating out and bars) but it’s a bit annoying sometimes because the rooftop is actually a bar open to the public so you don’t really get to enjoy it if you don’t want to party. I wanted to be able to enjoy a drink and sunbathe, or to just read a book but couldn’t and there isn’t really any outdoor space to chill.
Everything was great. The hostel has such a great vibe. I love the interiors and the bed was clean and comfortable. The idea of having the individual nooks is great and it gives you a lot of extra privacy that is very hard to get in hostels. The staff is super friendly, breakfast is good and kitchen super organised with everything you need.

Ideal hostel! The staff is super friendly, the place is amazing, interesting, beautiful, there are a lot of different spaces, restaurants, bars, but inside the hostel the peace is homely, wildly cozy, vintage. There are not beds here, but sleeping capsules, and it’s gorgeous! Each capsule has its own huge storage chest, separate clean toilets and showers for men and women separately! Kitchen, refrigerator, dishes, if you want to cook something yourself, there is a washing machine and dishwasher, a separate room only for girls, a bunch of doors with passwords that change, everything is safe! The area is ideal for traveling, right next to the bridge, a lot of transport nearby. You can return to Lisbon even just for this hostel. breakfast is included in the price and there are tons of vegan options! Pets are allowed. I'm delighted with the hostel! My husband is going to Lisbon in a month, and has already booked this hostel for himself)
