How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Being very picky here. Fitted hairdryer doesn’t work, just remove it as another is supplied anyway. Providing a Small carton of milk would be nice.
Very Spacious, huge comfortably bed with nice linen. Great shower. Pretty quiet as we were in the back of the building. Great condition and nice furniture throughout. Complimentary wine, tea coffee. Great communication and lovely host Paula. Would recommend without a doubt.

We loved everything. If pushed to mention an issue, the only minor thing was a lack of towel hooks / rails and bench space in the bathroom, but it was perfect otherwise!
The apartment was great! It was well equipped, had a nice character and ambience to it and the property manager was lovely. She even surprised us with an early check-in.

We arrived at 2am in the night and had no problems finding the apartment and enter with the information and the code provided. The next day, we checked in with the host and received a very friendly welcome and lots more information. The apartment is centrally located in the pedestrian zone of a busy shopping street, with places to enjoy breakfast just next door as well as a delicious ice cream shop. We enjoyed the spacious and very nicely decorated rooms.

It was quite small for 4 people,but for a family 2+2 IT was ok.
Location was great. The apartment was very clean and nicely decorated.

The location is very central, but since our room was facing the main street, it was a bit noisy, but with closed windows, it was completely fine.
The room was very beautiful and comfortable, the staff very friendly, available and helpful.

There is a lot of noise from the street outside, if you left the window open. We had already read this in previous reviews, so we were prepared. We shut the window at night and then the noise wasn’t a problem.
Great central location on the main shopping street in Porto We got the metro from the airport to the apartment and it was just a few minutes walk from Balhoa station. Rooms were very clean and comfortable.

Check in instructions were not clear . We had to call the property when we got there , so keep that in mind if you are traveling without a working phone. They sent us the entry code after we had already checked in. Our upstairs neighbors were really loud, I think they had kids that were running around , but otherwise location , value and comfort were amazing ! We would book this place again for sure .
Great location , comfortable bed . The high ceilings were great . We had a room facing away from the Main Street so didn’t hear the street noise.

Nothing. You just need to be specific with Uber drivers so they know where to drop you off. It’s a pedestrian only street so you need the number of Santa Catarina.
Loved the location. Right on Santa Catarina. Shops, busking, food, nightlife. Apartment was spotless and spacious. Also large amount of windows so you could see the street below. Also has an elevator. No negatives at all. Would HIGHLY recommend..

Perfect apartment for short stay. As I sole traveler, I was looking for something simple yet modern, clean and reasonably priced. This property did not dissapoint. Sofia was also really helpful when I wasnt able to check in yet at 0900 and stored my suitcases at the reception so I could explore Porto while waiting.
