Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

DenmarkThe bed was really hard! There were blankets put under the 5cm mattress, to try and add comfort. It didn't work. The freezer was also broken, so I came back to melted ice cream, even though there was ice around the freezer inside the fridge. At least the fridgepart of the minibar worked. You would also get woken up by the staff in the middle of the night, or anyone else who need to go to the toilet, bc of the big gap that was in the door. The staff also tried to get into my room twice, and they couldn't explain why. The lock on the door was very hard to lock and open, it's NOT the lock that is shown in the pictures, but a really old lock that can be easily picklocked. And when you needed the staff, you couldn't call them or find them. Lastly, I couldn't see what was on the TV because the controller was broken/ needed to change battery.
The location was good, and had a nice view to the alleys. There was also no cockroaches or bedbugs in my room.

PolandNoice levels, because of thin walls and squeaky doors I could hear other guests during the night - if you're a sensitive sleeper, consider another place.
Staff, friendly and helpful. Location, a 15min walk to closest metro station. Private bathroom cleanness was a pleasant surprise.

the location was great. lot's of coffee shops nearby. close to the main avenue there which is avenida de roma. all and all great location.

IrelandThe first bedroom was terrible, small and it's not for 2 people, with no place to organize the suitcases. However, if this was the problem, there was no problem, as we were out all day. After sleeping the first night, I woke up with some marks on my skin, that just in the morning started to itch. There were bed bugs. In the evening I took pictures and sent them to the manager, that was helpful and tried to move us out of the bedroom, but he said that night he couldn't as the hostel was full. The next morning, the first thing he did was changed us from the room. However, all my arms, my neck and my face were covered with bed bugs' bites. He said he will throw the mattress away and buy a new one, and fumigation the place. The second bedroom was better, with more space. All the staff was really helpful, the manager offered lunch to apologize. But the experience was traumatic.
Even though the staff are new working on the property, they are very helpful and friendly.

United KingdomThe room was very small and decor very tired. Tiny bathroom. I couldn't lock the window. Some people wouldn't feel safe in this room. The door did not fit properly. Thin walls, the next bedroom woke me up having a shower. Toilet was overlooked by neighbours. Fake grass on the wall was peeling off. The mirror above the bed was terrible! Why? There was a TV but no control so could not be used. Not good for persons with physical disabilities (steep stairs) and little steps in the room.
Nice staff. The bed was very comfortable. I slept well. The kitchen was clean. The shower was good. Mini fridge and fan in room. Lots of restaurants and a grocery shop nearby. Quiet from 10pm.

United KingdomWe booked a room with a private bathroom. The bathroom was unusable, it was a partition area in the bedroom, the door was a curtain. The wash basin was located on the toilet tank and the toilet was located directly in front of the shower. The lock on the window was broken and would not close.
The location was excellent as a family member resides in the locality. The room was comfy and clean.
