We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

Great location and port view. Breakfast restaurant has excellent view. Nice for business visit or long weekend but not for resort/pool type of holiday. Front desk people were very nice and professional.

SwedenThe interior of the hotel room was a bit worn down and needs replacing. The bed was too hard for our liking and the AC was rather old and difficult to adjust.
The hotel has a great location with an amazing view over the city and the sea. The pool area is great and the hotel have a nicely designed reception and restaurant area. Great breakfast selection.

United KingdomThe hotel although good now needs a complete refurbishment of the bathroom facilities. The shower is old and dated and requires you to step in to a bath. It needs a modern walk in shower. This current situation is dangerous as you can easily slip on the floor whilst stepping out. Please attend to as soon as possible.
Lovely location have been for several years now and enjoy this hotel set in beautiful surroundings.

United KingdomThe room and furniture was dated, feels like going back in time (80's probably?), carpet stained although they said It was recently replaced. Indoor pool cold. Minibar empty, only 1 bottle of water provided, no replenishment. The staff at reception could use some modern customer service training to improve the customer experience . Doesn't feel like a 5 star hotel/ experience and now I understand what other reviewers meant with similar reviews.

United KingdomThe rooms are not very soundproof . Plumbing noises from other rooms and noise from corridor easily heard in room. The public areas are chilly in February because of the extent of marble/hard surfaces.
Location with un obstructed views out to sea, the staff were very friendly and chef Rita went out of her way to ensure my wife had options for her gluten free diet.

SwitzerlandIf you look around carefully there are a few things that could do with renovating. But we went in low season time and so for the money we paid it was definately worth it. It says it's near a beach but the beach isn't worth mentioning, it's just a small patch with large stones.
Breakfast was excellent with a wide choice of things. There is a lot of space in the reception area to sit and chill and the rooms are not a bad size. The location is also very good.

United KingdomThe hotel is in a good location and walking distance into Funchal. Lots of restaurants near by so spoilt for choice with food. The hotel was clean and staff are polite and helpful. The breakfast buffet was amazing with lots to choose from. Facilities are great. Only thing I would say is the pools are not heated so the water is very cold and we were unable to use them. Overall was a pleasant stay

United KingdomThe indoor pool was crowded at different times with noisy and unhelpful children/family groups. Information on getting pool robes and slippers was gained only on request, and they took a day to be delivered to the room. The wardrobe door was sticking and not smooth to use. The bathroom sink had to be unblocked (this was done quickly).
Staff were very efficient and helpful - thank you. The room was very good and had an excellent view. The breakfast and bar service were excellent. Choice at breakfast was particularly good and the bread and the cheeses outstanding. The hotel was a quiet and relaxing place to be and to stay in. Access by airport bus was fantastic and gave us really good service both arriving and departing. The sauna was greatly appreciated - a very valued service.

A lovely hotel, spacious , architect designed and stylish. It is immaculately clean and polished. The pools are lovely. I liked the outdoor pool and the lunch menu at the pool bar. I enjoyed watching the cruise ships arrive in the harbour. The breakfast buffet is very good. Hot and cold food. The staff are lovely.
