Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsTo be honest nothing. Our daughter slept on sofa, being made as a bed, which was fine, but not ideal in terms of privacy, but we knew this beforehand. A car is needed. And unfortunately countryside means musquitos….
What a fantastic spot! Beautifully surrounded in the orange grove. It is peaceful and calm with a beautiful view over the valley. We had cottage number 3, which was nicely decorated with a good kitchen and fully equipped. The beds were excellent, and we didn’t find it noisy at all. There was also daily cleaning. Breakfast was amazing with everything there and a beautiful spot to eat, in the shade of a bougonville.

We stayed in a 3 bedroom apartment which was situated slightly away from the main rooms and felt very private with wonderful views all around. The room was spacious, well equipped, comfortable and nicely decorated. The breakfasts were continental style with lots of choice and very tasty. The pool area is lovely with great views and was always quiet even though it seemed the hotel was full. It was easy to get a taxi into Tavira town for shopping/restaurants and the stunning beaches are a short drive away with free parking if you have a car. We had a lovely peaceful stay and will most definitely return.

United KingdomEverything!
Everything about the property is amazing. It felt like our own private villa at times. High season but super quiet, the pool area is amazing. The lounge and breakfast facilities are perfect. The staff are super helpful and friendly. Everything is spotless and they offer daily room service! Honestly couldn’t recommend this place highly enough. We will 100% be coming back. If you’re thinking about going to Tavira / Cabanas, don’t even look any further, this place is perfect.

United KingdomThe pool area is lovely, but one family decided to noisily take it over a few times and play ball games, which, according to the rules , is not allowed. We went out of school holidays so we were surprised there were British kids around. The room is very nice but a little small. Although there's lots of storage. The bathroom is quite big and very nice. To get to the beach is a bit of a faff, but that wasn't anything to do with the hotel.
This hotel has a nice feel about it. The location in a fruit tree grove is very nice. The views are lovely, especially from the pool. To enter the place, you go through a secure gate, and there is shaded parking for guests. The staff are very kind and polite and helpful. Breakfast was great, fresh, and lots of choice. You can use a washing machine for free, which is very useful. The room was a little small but ok. Good air-conditioning and big bathroom. To get into Tavira town, it's about a 5 min drive. You could walk it but the road is a bit busy. Lots of restaurants to choose from, all about the same price. There's an indoor shopping plaza with big supermarket and food court just 5 mins drive away. We visited Barril beach a few times because it seemed the easiest to get to. Parking is good, and there's a walkway over the river and a small train €2 pp each way to take you to the beach. You can hire sunbeds and there's toilet facilities and a few shops and restaurants there. The sea is lovely.

United KingdomOur room was situated right next to the reception therefore you could hear staff setting up early. Not the best if you fancy a lie in.
The hotel is such a lovely setting for a relaxing stay out of town. Everywhere is so peaceful and everywhere you look there are flowers blooming and orange trees surrounding the hotel area. The breakfast is a great addition to the offering with fresh orange juice and fruit daily. It is situated about a 30-40 minute walk from the centre of Taveria and the first part of this has no pavement, this is why I think most people opt to hire a car. We were happy renting bikes which took approx 10 mins to get to town and provided a good breeze to get a break from the heatwave- not for everyone though. The last stretch of road to the hotel from town is a bit darker, so bike lights needed.

SpainThe mattress is a bit hard for our preference. And the pool chemicals irritated my eyes.
Very relaxing place, even though the hotel was full I think, the place doesn’t feel crowded. We loved having our own patio outside the room, the beautiful garden and swimming pool.

United StatesThe bed was not comfortable. We prefer firm mattresses while the ones in our bed were very soft - the kind that make you feel that you're sink in into them. One other suggestion would be to make a microwave available in a commmon area in the evening hours. Being somewhat far from restaurants, it would be helpful to be able to warm up take-out food some days.
Living in the middle of an orange orchard was a beautiful experience. The room was nice and clean, the bathrooms were very new and fantastic. The breakfast spread was very good. And Miguel was and wonderful and most helpful host. Thank you Miguel!

United StatesThe unit is referred to as a 2 bedroom but it is really an open loft and a sofa bed. There isn't an actual separate bedroom. And the shower was uncomfortably tiny.
The breakfast was excellent. A good range of options. My room had an equipped kitchen, which would be great for longer stays. The staff was very outgoing and friendly. Very helpful with any questions I had about the area. It's only a few minutes drive to the center of town.

PortugalBecause the information listed it as two km from town we thought we could walk or bike but the road is not safe for either. We don’t have a car. We had to take Uber which was okay but not what we expected getting back and forth from town.
