Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyWould be nice, if there were more space to put your things in the shower, so it gets not wet as dorm and showers are mixed and you have to take everything with you. Also my room was next to the surfing meeting point (8.30am), which made it impossible to sleep longer even with ear plugs.
My dorm was so huge, the common area is really nice. There was pizza night also, so it was pretty easy to socialize with people, also because the camp is not really big. The kitchen is also really huge. People came mainly for surfing, I did not, but that was totally fine. Thanks for all :)

Great surf hostel with a lovely vibe, super friendly staff and everyone was nice and easy to make friends. Great facilities and a chill common room. 4 bed dorm I stayed in and had great lockers for all your kit with key so everything super safe. Bathrooms are clean and plenty in each dorm area, most of time you can jump in a private one and the showers are mega good 😊 The hostel run a surf school I joined one of the lessons which was great to meet and bond with the crew then I hired a board for few days as was much cheaper. Lessons are 70E and this is about average for Sagres (I did think this was quite expensive tbh)

CanadaThe pillows were super thin (& I normally like a thin pillow)
Two amazing beaches were walkable, with the sagres natura surf rental shop on the way to Praia do Tonel, where we surfed. We loved the common areas, and the breakfast buffet (for €10) that we also packed a sandwich for lunch at. The showers had great water pressure and unlimited hot water! And everyone was so laid back. Sagres is very underrated!

Germanymy favourite hostel I've stayed at. Absolutely loved the interior and the cute cats, the staff was super friendly and I would always love to come back. I was their first guest of the season in the beginning of march and they made sure that even though they just opened the day I arrived I was not missing anything. I also booked surf lessons with them and really enjoyed it, grazie Nico!

Portugalnothing to say really. Book your stay sometime in advance because it's always full.
This hostel is unique in Sagres and maybe unique overall. You get to meet other people with their stories and path, explore connections while you do surf, yoga or other activities. A place to truly feel like home.

LithuaniaI liked everything, except that the dingle bed doesn't have a locker, only a drawer. Luckily, it was not an issue for me this time.
I liked the room size, the number of beds and the private bathroom. There was a balcony and awesome common areas. The location was super nice and close to the beach. The staff was extremely helpful and helped me and my friend after an accident we had. A lot of additional activities too.

Germany- i think some of the activities were a little pricy for the average budget traveller. Also breakfast is a little expensive. Maybe they could offer several breakfast options at different prices
Very spacious hostel, the rooms are really big and there is a garden. Also a huge kitchen Nicely decorated, lots of fun stuff like guitars and other stuff laying around that guests can use. The staff and volunteers are very nice and are interested in people coming together and having fun =) It's a surfer's hostel so you'll find boards and wet suits that u can rent
