Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PortugalKids club is not really kids club. We left both of our kids to play and signed papers. When I went there to check 1 hour later, my 3 years old was outside in the parque alone without shoes. When I confronted them, they said this would not be possible like I am lying. I would never suggest anyone to trust their kids club.

United KingdomThe restaurant is like a canteen. The 19th hole should also be open at night to enjoy the pool area being lit up. They need open it up , maybe bifolds to bring the outside light in. No ambiance in the evening. Parasols outside on the tables in the day would be a nice touch. Salt/ pepper/ sugar on tables? No salt and pepper available in the mornings?

United KingdomThe all inclusive food wasn't the greatest. Unfortunately 2 days before our departure, my daughter ( 3years old) and I fell ill. We were continuously vomiting, and it was quite excessive. The guest relations were very helpful and caring, they regularly checked up on us, and even requested the chef's to prepare a soup to cater for our stomach, I must say my daughter felt better, however I was still really ill until my return to London.

PortugalSince it was raining on some of the days we stayed in the room but the housekeeper took more than 6 hours to go to our room to clean it. The inside pool it's 10 euros/day, that's not a good thing for rainy days. The room pillows could be improved.
The hotel has 4 pools, 2 for adults and 2 for kids. The breakfast, lunch and dinner are really good! The intermediate meals are OK. The room has plenty of space.

PortugalThe main restaurant closes on a Monday, leaving only the buffet. The water is hot/cold in the shower. The bed had a rubber sheet on top of the mattress protectors leading to a lot of perspiring, also the mattress was very hard.

PortugalThe pool was too noisy - and not because of clients, but because of the music. In the morning it was ok, just ambient music. In the afternoon it was way too loud and sometimes trashy. That, allied to the fact that the music was placed in the middle of the pool cluster made it impossible to pick a quieter place, and being near the entrance to the hotel also made it difficult to enter the hotel with a sleeping baby.
We loved everything, the food is really good, and having a 1 year old we always had unsalted food good for her. Our 6 year old also loved the food, as did we. The bed was really confortable, and the pillows felt like hugging clouds.

PortugalThe bed matresses are too soft and the double bed is not a single matress but rather two, put together. The hotel is packed with kids, everywhere you go or look. The noise of crying babies, screaming toddlers and children in general is unbearable. Kids running and screaming in the buffet room made it impossible to go for dinner or lunch in regular hours (we always had to wait for later meals to avoid this). The pool is impossible to use for relaxing as there is always a kid diving and splashing into the water. The rooms are not so soundproof so we could even hear people and kids running or talking loud in the rooms corridor. We were definitely not prepared for a hotel that is exclusively dedicated to families and where we felt the odd ones. If you are a family, your kids might love it. If you're in search of peace and a relaxing stay, avoid it.
Staff is kind and helpful Modern and clean hotel Train to the beach is very frequent and always on time Very good cocktails Very good food (for all inclusive standards) High standard amenities (Rituals for the bath sets, complimentary nespresso coffee in the room)

United KingdomRoom size for family of 4 (2 kids under 4) is tight but manageable. Would be great if baths were available in the rooms for kids but again manageable. 5th floor restaurant food is good but the kids menu choice isn’t really appropriate for kids and could do with revising to more kid-friendly options and child-friendly booking slots for the comfort of families and those without who don’t want the “joy” of my kids and their chaos! Not sure if the Village hotel pools and kids club can be used by the Palace customers - would be good to know.
There are many unfair reviews online in my opinion so please think of my review as objective and unbiased. This hotel is amazing if you are a family with young kids as I am. If you’re looking for a romantic retreat with your partner this is not the hotel for you - you should probably book the Salgados Village next door which has far fewer children and a more adult feel. For families this hotel is ideal, there are kids everywhere, irrespective of language they will find other kids to play with. The hotel chain is popular with the Portuguese so depending on the time of the year they will be in the majority during your stay. There are lots of things for the kids to do during the day including the Kids Club, they even host a little disco in the evenings for the kids. The four pools are large and clean, 2 are super shallow and perfect for the kids, the other two are normal depth but again you’ll find kids in all of them with no exclusivity for adults. You will never feel the kids are unwelcome anywhere, if they’re very young and eat quite messily, it is expected, albeit uncomfortable for you as a parent to experience in public. The rooms are clean, and well maintained. The staff are kind and helpful despite working very long and busy days. The music at the pool is great and keeps spirits high. There is an excellent train service to the beach and the driver has the music to match his happy spirit. Cocktails are goood - frozen daiquiri’s and caipirinha’s are a must!

PortugalThe bar is just not enough, too many lines and most of the time just 1 or 2 from the staff working on it. As such the quality of the drinks is very mediocre, things are done in seconds and with low quality drinks and ingredients. The kids pool area with the boat is just plain disgusting, it’s so so so so dirty because there used to be grass next to the pool which now is just mud. The kids club is also very simple and blend, my kids are 4 and 5 and only went once because they didn’t had much to do in there
The food is great given the amount of people they need to serve. The staff is friendly and helpful. The adults pool area is generally clean . Being able to charge my ev was a great great plus and the fact that on the last day we got to checkout but still have lunch was a tremendously good touch.
