Italian Delight of Greek Gods
Occupying the southern part of Italy’s Campania Region, Cilento is one of those few remaining Mediterranean paradises glowing with its nature and genuine southern Italian atmosphere. It stretches between the coastal cities of Paestum and Sapri, and includes the Cilento and Vallo di Diano National Park.
Its 100 km of coast are kissed with crystalline waters, while its interior displays a mountainous landscape and historic villages. Established by Greek colonialists before Roman times, the remains of Velia (ancient Elea) and Paestum (ancient Poseidonia) remind us about this rich legacy. Both towns and the national park have been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Due to the quality of its water, its beaches are among the most awarded of the Tyrrhenian Sea. Cities like Santa Maria di Castellabate, Acciaroli and Marina di Camerota have some of the best small boutique and luxury hotels in Cilento.
