“After a week of disappointing hotels in the Zanzibar archipelago we found a place that made us feel we were getting good quality for our money. The place is comfortable, beautifully situated, clean. The staff, especially Jennifer and Kasib, made us feel we were looked after at all time. If you go to Pemba, and you should, you need to be here!”
“If you want to experience the real Pemba Lala Lodge is the place to be!It has great views over the harbour of Mkoani. Every morning fishermen bring in their catch right in front of the lodge. Dennis the owner arranged a great snorkelling trip to Misali and a really beautiful trip to the blue lagoon for us for e reasonable price. He has a lot of knowledge about the island and will gladly help you with any other plans. Lala lodge is a simple accommodation it offers great value for money”
“After reading the previous reviews, I am very surprised about how much must have changed over the last few years as I cannot tie in with them at all.
The hotel's location is a dream in the North of Pemba and my room was very comfortable and spacious (most importantly: there was clear water coming out of the tap, so no worries). The staff was also absolutely lovely and since I was travelling alone, they gave their very best to make me feel like home. For me, it was the perfect place to just rest and enjoy some quiet days.
Asante sana and until next time!”
“Abbas, the front desk night shift person and the bed was comfortable (after I told them to change the bedding from the last guest, all was visibly dirty when they took me to my room).”
“Our vacation was held in a low season, but the weather does not prevent good breakdown. Excellent diving. Very caring diving instructor Sufi with extensive experience in the profession. He knows the sea and interesting points under water. The hotel has good boats with powerful motors. Full set of equipment for diving. Restaurant at the hotel offers local and European cuisine, individual order of dishes is possible. The dishes are very tasty. Chef Musa knows his business very well. Spacial great thanks to the Headmaster of the Gecko Nature Lodge Jennifer. She met us well, organized our walk around the surrounding area, solved our problems with logistics (the airline was canceled by our local flights from Zanzibar and back, but Jennifer forced FlightLink Buy us new tickets from another airline). The hotel is not new, but very large spacious rooms in African style. The bungalow has everything you need. The hotel is very suitable for divers, people who are interested in fishing and spearfishers (very rich Sea). Great holidays for people who want to be alone with nature.”
