Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

South AfricaMr. Bang that will go the extra mile to help his visitors. He organized a trip to James Bond Eiland and a trip to white sand beach better than any tour guide. He even went with to make sure that we got the best value.

United KingdomWhilst the accommodation was clean generally, a better impression would be created if the patio doors and other glassware was cleaned to a higher standard.
I chose Calm because it is in close proximity to a Muslim fishing village I enjoy visiting. Calm is in a very natural setting with a mangrove forest and small river situated to the rear. If you enjoy birdwatching there’s plenty to see here. The owner is very helpful and friendly. The accommodation is basic Thai style. It has everything one needs for a short stay. In order to get full benefit from the location ideally you need your own transport. If you are able to get around there’s lots of very rural Thailand to enjoy.

It's calm as named. Just 3 houses by the pond and mangrove forest. It gives a very remotes feeling. It located near the beautiful sight seeing beach. Mr. Bang, the staff is super supportive and helpful. As a solo traveler who afraid of the monkey, he accompanied me into the mangrove forest for a short walk and also advised me the local beach that turned out to be wonderful.

United KingdomThe mattress wasn't great, low water pressure in the shower,
The owner was really helpfull, organised a boat trip in the evening (high tide) through the mangroves to the fishing village. In the morning also gave us a hand with the kayaks so we could go for a paddle in the mangroves.(high tide). A couple of mountain bikes are also available. Plan, if possible, your visit around the high tide

GermanyHonestly: all was fine, but the bed was really uncomfortable. 3 days would be my macimum before needing a full back massage. Mosquitos ... well ... it's nature ... but there are a lot of these bas.... . Probably bring your own mosquito net. We didn't mind the mini lizards on the bedroom wall at all.
This is a gem, hidden in the mangrove forest of Bangphat bay - 20 minutes by car from Phang Nga (price from Krabi to Phang Nga Bus Terminal by minibus: 300 bhat pP, price from Phang Nga Bus Terminal to accommodation: 500 Bhat per car - you can take the taxis offered at the bus terminal, as it is VERY hard to find another one). The accommodation is within 15 minutes walking distance from a muslim community fisher village with small shops and three fish restaurants. Although the restaurants are very good, you won't find prices on the menu, as Tourist prices are higher than for locals. Mr Bang, the owner of Calm @ Bangphat, owns a small shop as well, where you can get all daily needs and can also wash your clothes for 20 Bhat per machine. The room has got a fridge, a very modern air conditioner, WiFi, a TV, a desk, a balcony and a (not so comfortable) bed. You will also find a water boiler and if you won't go to the village for food, you can have a cup of noodles from Mr Bang's store. A sandy and lonly beach is in 20 minutes walking distance and Mr. Bang may provide a bike for you. He is a very friendly and hospitable host. He may bring you to the Bus Terminal personally (for the same 500 Bhat) and reserve a seat in the next Minibus to your next destination (Khao Sok: 380 Bhat pP, Krabi and Phuket: 300 Bhat pP). Be aware of the fact that the accommodation is built upon an artificial pond and there is a lot (!) of mosquitos around - so brace yourself! You may also see fish, monkeys and lizards. It is the perfect stay on a road- or backpacking trip for 1 to 3 days. You can calm down from travelling and live close to how some locals do. Therefor (the calm, the nature, the experience) you will lack a bit of comfort but it will be worth your while if you are open to these kinds of experiences. We did really enjoy our stay! Especially thanks to Mr. Bangs kind hospitality.

United KingdomNothing Great value. Super Mr Bang!!!!
Not much at first sight. Slightly disappointed at first But actually it was very very comfortable and really good location - but mr bang was just soooo helpful he's the best reason in the world to book it! I didn't realise my tyre was running flat and he didn't just point it out, he found a pump to fill my flat tyre and actually did the hard work for me!!! Then he booked me a great day out to James Bond island followed by kayaking through island caves and mangroves on another island and even came with me for company (Billy no mates - solo traveller) - the guys an absolute dream and showed me where the incredible boardwalk into the local village through the mangroves is (it's awesome)! And if you want to eat the omg go to the fish restaurant in my pic !!!!

This was an amazing but secluded trip. Mr bang was amazing and so helpful, providing us with activities and some food! He even offered a trip to james bonding island. I’d highly recommend if you are looking for a quiet and peaceful get away. The fishing village seafood was also so tasty

United KingdomBed was quite firm.. not uncomfortable, but not to what I'm used to.. I slept fine, that's the main thing 😌 If you're a vegetarian, there wasn't much veggie options available in the local Muslim community fishing village, which is a short walk away.. which wasn't an issue for us.. as we just stuck to our same same.. rice and egg.. but this isn't in anyway their fault.. they are a fishing village.. so their niche is their catches of the day.. but the village is lovely to walk around and the people there are so friendly and smiley ❤️
Loved the location.. really, really local (we were the only white people, and we were like celebrities, everyone waved and smiled at us 😀) fantastic place to unwind and just chill out Mr Bank was extremely helpful, very accommodating, and was very kind. Advised us of places to explore and go and watch the sunset. He does have a little shop that has a basic selection of snacks and soft drinks, toiletries and some necessities (if you do want more than this, there is a shop 10 min drive away) He ran me to a shop on the back of his bike, when me and my friend wanted beer.. which was really lovely of him and he brought us over bananas from his tree.. provided us with a tuk tuk and took us to phang nga bus station at the end of our stay for a reasonable price. Keep your eye out for the nature.. I see eagles, monitor lizards, macaque monkies, herons.. there are also mosquitos.. its the mangroves.. but they didn't really harass us in the room.. they only usually come out at sunset

AustraliaWe loved this property, we extended our stay, we would have extended longer but it was booked. We made a YouTube video there, just look up explore rural Thailand Bangphat adventures. We would love to stay there again. It’s very relaxing, the cabins are cool, how they are over the water, there is an interesting mangrove boardwalk nearby and a beautiful little fishing village. We recommend having your own transport and definitely bring mosquito spray and coils.

Polandwe missed a cloth rack to put the clothes out of a backpack. No hot water but not a big deal for us.
At the beginning the location may seem a lil bit off the beaten path and difficult to move around for the backpackers, but give it a try and you will be rewarded with amazing and relaxing time. The lake view cottage was clean and very comfortable. The owner Mr Bang is great - he borrowed us his fishing rod, checked the bus timing, brought some fruits etc. Soak up into this tiny village as the community there is lovely and they are the nicest and most genuine people we met in Thailand. They will share with you the 1000 smiles, make sure you go right direction or just give you the ride, give some shrimps for your fishing bait, proudly show their daily crab catch if they spot you in the kayak. Do not miss the neighbor pancakes restaurant (ca 1km walking), fisherman village and kayaking in mangrove forest. There were not so many mosquitos as people say. Just keep your door closed when the light is on and you will be really fine ;)
