Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IsraelThere were ants in our room. We told the reception about that and they cleaned it up, but in the evening they came back again..
Beatiful hotel! The pool was very big and nice. The staff were amazing, always there to help you with whatever you need. We had a private pool in the room, overlooking the bay - which was stunning. The breakfast had huge variaty, and they actually keep the fruits and vegtebels in a refrigerator, so it's fresh and tasty (not many hotel in Thailand do that). There's also an AC sitting area so that's a huge plus. We were staying here during the full moon party, and they offered a round trip there from the hotel in a fair price.

IsraelThe noise woke up us early - but as mentioned, it is part of this hotel location and you should be ready and aware.
Santhiya location is in the 'woods' - it is kind of inside a jungle you walk around, and as such you need to be ready for the diff noises during nighttime. We loved the hotel and the area. It was a very unique experience - the use of the internal shuttle, the isolated location of the Villas inside, the staff and the outstanding service, the hotel's beautiful design, the breakfast was nice too, the beautiful pool (nice and cool water). Just bear in mind the noises of the 'jungle', and the different bugs may land on your balcony, so you are prepared and ready.

United StatesThe shower has very low flow of water The noise from the birds outside especially in the morning is annoying and can wake you up early in the morning. The shuttle service to the small city is not as great. The location is far from the small city 10-15 minutes walk
The hotel is beautiful and the view is stunning. The breakfast is great with lots of food variety. The rooms are comfortable and big for 6 people. The facilities look great and are well maintained.

Amazing hotel! Not similar to anything else you have seen. It is a wonderland inside the jungle. A place for couples that want some peace and quiet. We took the private pool Vila and this was amazing. The nearest small village is 15-20 walk, but it has everything you can want or need.

Netherlands- no nurse/medical staff at the resort. I needed some help but the nurse couldn’t come for longer than 1h. I think it’s necessary to have someone on call, especially considering the size of the complex and kids around - it’s a huge resort and a lot of stairs
It’s a beautiful resort. The room was clean and there are great swimming pools, also with easy access to the beach. It’s perfect if you want to spend some time relaxing without leaving the place

United KingdomIt was expensive, lovely but expensive. We spent the same on three nights here for a family of 5 as we would for a week in a French villa! Given how much we paid I was very disappointed we were charged extra for a glass that blew over in the breeze. I was also disappointed that we were charged for an extra person when both of the rooms clearly slept three people. This feels like a mean way to make extra money but this policy is common in other places we stayed. Breakfast was amazing but evening meals were very expensive for what we got. I would definitely avoid the “fish market” evening. The fish was unbelievably expensive and over cooked. There is another restaurant on the beach that is cheaper and fish was much better cooked. It is tired around the edges but any repairs needed were done promptly by wonderful staff.
The view was absolutely fantastic from our grand villa. The breeze made the heat comfortable. The rooms were absolutely lovely. There is much more to do in this bay than some of the reviews suggest. Local food. 7/11 etc a short and beautiful walk away. A real treat after the hustle and bustle of Bangkok. Breakfast was unbelievably good. If you can afford the price tag stay here. It’s wonderful. The resort transport was much better than some review suggest. The only time we had an issue was trying to get to breakfast ten minutes before it closed! Clearly everyone else was also being lazy so there was a rush. Totally understsndable. .

OmanThe housekeepers did a good job cleaning the villa and the room, but didn’t completely ‘make up room’ and tidy up the villa. There was simply too much wildlife moving too close in and around the villa including a large snake, which I observed probing ways to access it (thought to be a King Cobra), a loud Tokay lizard in the bathroom and noisy activity by some creatures having a ‘party’ on the roof (mosquitos were few). Of course, during jungle stays neighbouing wildlife is part of the ambiente and can be enjoyable upto the point when it becomes intrusive and disturbing and potentially dangerous. While the housekeeping staff immediately attended our wildlife-related alerts and any other requests, we still decided to change to a less frequented and more relaxing room.
The Santhiya resort is in a lush and vibrant jungle and with its traditional Thai style architecture it is stunningly beautiful. The villa (1505) , in which we stayed first, was spacious with its own pool and veranda with sea view and an attached external bathroom. The staff especially Mr.Noo, the senior resort manager, was very friendly and acommodating when we requested a change to an also beautiful room with pool access (3102). All rooms were very clean. The breakfast buffet’s selection was nice though not lavish. Their wooden cars are within minutes available to transport guests in the hilly terrain of the resort. Our transfers by speedboat and car between Koh Samui, this resort and back were efficient and punctually arranged by Santhiya.

Czech RepublicWe enjoyed our stay but unfortunately the hotel is not in a great “shape” anymore. It definitely doesn’t corespond to the 5 stars as the rooms really smells with the moisture and mold. The facilities like a sun beds are very used etc. Anyways I’d still go again.
Beautiful place with a very specific design which perfectly matches with the surrounding nature. Breataking view, very nice staff, amazing breakfast.

GermanyIt is like everyone else says: you are directly in the jungle, which means a shower outside and posioness centipeders once or twice. We also had a snake on our balcony who visited us daily. It's not for everyone, and you should know what you get. I also want to mention that most of the staff don't speak proper English which made it difficult to communicate sometimes (e.g. when to pick up laundry or with our snake problem).
We loved the calmness of this wonderful hotel - only the birds and the Geckos sounds in the morning, the waves from a distance - if you'd like to relax it's the perfect stay. Such an amazing staff! The breakfast was great, best breakfast I had in whole Thailand!

IsraelWe never go to luxary hotels and thought to have a good 4 days. We booked the pool Vila suite, the generator of the hotel was outside our door and made so much noise you could hear it from the inside. Our baby couldn't fall asleep that's how loud. With some assertiveness, they finally changed our room to a nice room, but no privacy as the walkway was outside our balcony, and also, every morning, we heard the Gardners outside our room. Overall, nothing felt like it was really clean. The room, they only made our bed, the pool and beach area not so clean. The driveway entrance to the hotel had garbage on the floor and lost rubish. we thought we had made a wrong turn. The room service portion was so small! We expected something top class, and in some perspective, it was but not to the fullest.
Staff were super friendly and helpful! Always looking to assist. The breakfast was really nice and had a lot of options. We enjoyed the muay Tai class the hotel provides.

Belgium- The airport transfer: Before arriving you get a text saying the speedboat transfer was changed from a direct trip from airport to hotel, but now moved to a different pier followed by a van ride due to ‘weather conditions’. However on arrival you can see that the hotel pier is simply broken so it would be impossible to arrive there by boat. A bit strange to be lying about this. Either be upfront about the transfer or fix your pier. - While the staff is extremely friendly and accomodating, the management is poor. There were so many unfortunate mishaps. We tried extending our stay by one night because we liked it so much. The receptionist said it was no problem but then when we came back in the morning to confirm our room was fully booked all of a sudden and we had to move to another room if we wanted to stay longer. After a lengthy discussion with another receptionist who was very friendly, we got to book a more expensive room (Sea View villa) for the same price as our first room (Hideaway villa). A room change itself was not a problem if they had been upfront about it, but when we first asked if we could extend it was no problem and then all of a sudden our room was booked? The first receptionist stated it was impossible fir them to extend our stay via the computer and that we had to do it ourselves through Booking, yet the second receptionist said that would have been easier if he had done that himself in the first place. Total lack of coordination and communication. Strange. - Lastly we were told thatfor the airport transfer back off the island we had to be at the reception at 14:00. At 13:15 we get a call asking where we were because the van was about to leave which meant we had to cancel our lunch and basically enter the van in our still slightly wet bathing suits since we were at the beach all morning. Not a fun transfer back off the island, wet and hungry. They did admit it was a ‘mistake from the hotel’. Thanks a lot.
Perfect getaway to rest up and recharge in a beautiful and remote oart of the island. Yet a small village with shops and restaurants is within a 5-10min walking distance via the beach. Very friendly and accomodating staff.

Switzerlandthe hotel location is a bit remote, which is perfect for family/resort centric type of holidays. If you want to go out, then plan accordingly to reach the more active parts of the island (night life, shops, restaurants).
We stayed in a Grande Villa Royale with pool. The Villa was amazing, the pool, the view, the terrasses, the external shower and the external bath. The overall hotel space is a huge rainwater forrest on the hill. The restaurants are nice but with hotel prices versus the external restaurants. We loved the restaurant with the relaxing beds and the movable tables with a direct view on the sea. the pools are beautifull with the waterfalls. I would recommend staying there.

CanadaWe had an issue with a rat getting into our villa in the middle of the night. We understand that these things happen when you are staying on the edge of the jungle. But it was not pleasant to be woken up by. Having said that, we called customer services, and they immediately came to deal with it. Also, the next day, they followed up with a deep cleaning of our room.
It is an exceptional place. We will go back, and we would recommend it. The buffet breakfast is amazing and has so many choices. The staff were some of the best we have experienced in all our travels. The bed is very comfortable, and the outdoor shower is wonderful.

South AfricaThe beds were very hard and the WiFi was too slow. We had to buy local SIM cards to remain connected. We tried the evening dinner once but the quality in the village nearby was much better so we preferred that for the subsequent nights.
Our stay felt like we were living in a rain forest. The rooms were beautiful, and there was a high level of tranquility. The well-equipped gym was an unexpected bonus. The pools were stunning.
