Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceNothing.
Excellent location in front of the sea, with access to the beach just downstairs, walkable distance from city center but yet very quiet at night. Excellent breakfast.

United KingdomThe breakfast was quite disappointing. I would of liked some more fruit options than a soggy bowl Of fruit salad that went early every day. Probably because apart from watermelon it was the only fruit on offer! A bunch of bananas would be good and some pastries. I tried to eat olives and parsley for breakfast but i couldnt do it! The bathroom in my room was very tight and outdated. I had to keep the door open when using the facilities because it was awkward closing the door.
The bar and terrace area is nicely decorated, comfy and relaxing. It also offers a beautiful view out to the sea and therefore a stunning sunset too.

South Africanoise in the stairwell travels, so although the rooms were quite. Rooms need a little TLC as some lights not working (but were fixed when reported). There is a three level starwell to get to actual hotel from reception, which may be an issue if you have mobility constraints - otherwise easy to manage.
For us, what made the stay so special was the private swimming area with recliners, parasols, bar service and showers - we loved it! spent a lot of time there and enjoyed every moment. Pool very nice too , as was the bar menu items we ordered. Breakfast buffet was as expected, with hot and cold options . lovely views of marina and easy access to old town

United StatesIt was on the expensive side for some room features (lack of toiletries, no where to hang swimsuits etc); not having elevators made it harder after a tiring day but it was manageable.
Amazing location with water front property with their own beach club setting. Staff was very helpful and thoughtful at all times.

AustraliaThere was no lift, so prepare to walk up and down many stairs! Good news is the staff will assist you with your bags. Rooms were on the smaller side than what we’re used to.
The best location to stay in Kas. Has its own pool and private beach. You couldn’t ask for more! The view from our room was beautiful and even more charming from the breakfast area. The staff were outstanding! They were so helpful and friendly and went above and beyond for my wife and I. Highly recommend!

United KingdomNot a problem for us, but there were a lot of stairs and no lift (very common in Turkey). Staff were very helpful at carrying luggage up and down the stairs though
Lovely location, the beach access is brilliant. Staff are so nice and helpful, nothing is too much. Great breakfast, with perhaps the best omelette we’ve ever had! Ate lunch at the hotel a few times and everything was fresh and good value. Rooms are clean and spacious. Such good value, we definitely want to come back!

South AfricaThe location was perfect, slightly outside the town, but within close proximity and walking distance. the staff were particularly helpful and attentive. The private beach area was very comfortable and convenient - the other beaches were less accessible than we assumed. No lift, but this is to be expected, as this is one of the older, established hotels adjacent to the beach / sea

SwedenJust be aware that there is not lift in the facility and if you are elderly or having little kids, can be challenging to climb everyday to your room. In case it is needed check with the staff and ask them to give you the rooms on lower floors, i m sure they will do their best. Otherwise, my health app was saying that I made great exercise during my vacation time :)
Variety at breakfast was OK. It is was simple but quite good tastes where they are not throwing away the foods like any other open buffets. As Swedes says that Lagom "just the right amount" or "not too much, not too little" The view of the breakfast area was amazing.. And the staff, they were so professional and always having a real smile on their face. The location of the hotel is quite close to the center (5-10 mins by walking), the rooms are big enough and clean (everyday they were cleaning the rooms and changing the towels etc..) In front of the hotel, they have their own beach and the service level of the beach and pool staff (considering that they are working under 40C) was excellent. There is a small swimming pool just near by the bar and Tahsin (barmen) was a great service minded person. The facility has a car parking slots just in front of the hotel.

IrelandCONs * No lift in the hotel. There are 5 flights (about 40 steps or so) of stairs from the street level up to the pool, bar, restaurant area. All bedrooms are up more stairs after this! * The hotel is old, furniture is basic, and a bit worn out in places. But very clean in all the main areas, even though our floor was only swept once. So, we had sand and leaves etc on it most days. * We had no bedside lights or lamps, just overhead lights. Very bright, if one person wants to sleep while the other person is reading. You have to get out of bed to go and switch off the light. It would be a cheap thing to buy 2 small lamps to make the room better. Also, provide 2 (washable) glasses instead of 2 (disposable) paper cups. More eco-friendly! * There was a strange arrangement with the bed linen! (in our opinion - but maybe every hotel in Kas is the same?) There was a bottom sheet, and then there was a cotton blanket. No top sheet. The blanket was the exact size of the bed surface, so not really big enough for 2 people. We asked for a top sheet, & no problem, we got one. BUT, every day, for 9 days, the housekeeper took it off or folded it right down to the bottom of the bed. So, we needed to fix the bed again every day. * The bathroom was TINY. It's a very basic one person space! The undercounter cupboard under the sink had the doors taken off, so it looked like a half done DIY job. The bathroom is painted, no wall tiles, even the shower. But, hot water always. * Fresh orange juice isn't included in your breakfast. You pay extra. And plastic straws instead of eco-friendly paper ones! * Really terrible coffee from a filter machine. Maybe poor quality coffee grounds? One morning we asked for an Espresso and a Cappucino from the barista machine in the bar, but the cappucino was really watery, and the espresso tasted the same as the jug coffee, not freshly ground beans. And we had to pay extra for them.
PROs * Superb location, at the end of the town, right on the seafront, with only 8 - 10 min walk into the main harbour / square / shopping /restaurants. Mainly flat walk, 2 hills. * Fabulous views from the restaurant, the bar / pool terrace, from the beach restaurant, and from the 3 beach terraces. * Friendly, cheerful, courteous, helpful staff that make you feel right at home, and are delighted to see you every day. We especially liked the lady who serves breakfast and lunch (Sakina??) and the guy in the bar, (Tasim?) who played all our music requests, and made up a playlist of our favourites! He is so chilled and cheerful all the time. Also, the guys down at the beach who are buzzing around with towels and drinks - nothing is ever too much trouble to ask them! * Good outdoor areas with plenty of sunbeds. The beach club swimming spot has 2 ladders down into the crystal clear sea - one is longer - and a fresh water shower. You get fresh towels every day at the beach club and the pool. * Really nice lunch terrace above the beach. We really appreciated that when we didn't finished a bottle of wine, they put our room number on it, put it back in the fridge and kept it till the next time we wanted it. Or you can get drinks / food served to your sunbed. * The bar terrace is a lovely area to come back to after dinner in town, with low lights, comfy seats, music and sparkling views. We ate there one night, and the food was very good, and cheaper than in town. * Excellent air-conditioning in the bedroom, and a small fridge which was actually cold. * Lovely snow white fluffy towels every day in your room. Bed linen changed every couple of days. * Standard breakfast buffet, with cheeses, yoghurt, olives, salad, fruit salad, watermelon, processed sliced meat (no idea what it was as we never touched it!) and bread that you can toast.

United StatesThe only thing to note is the rooms are a bit tight. Not unacceptable, but just the average room won't accommodate a lot of luggage. Additionally, if you are not used to stairs, this may not be the place for you.
The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. Reading other people's posts on the amendable staff led to me booking it and I agree - the staff sets this place apart and made me feel very welcome and comfortable. Hat tip to the bartender too - he made us excellent original creations. All other staff members were very helpful and positive. I definitely enjoyed my stay and would stay again.
