How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The hotel is perfectly located close to the Bosphorus as well a walking distance from all the major attractions of the City including Hagia Sofiya... The support staff were excellent... Khalid and Enes in the reception were our lifeline of the entire trip. They helped us with planning our entire day perfectly. A big vote of thanks to them. Thank you Cape Palace.

The location is fantastic, between Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque and Topkapi. On walking distance of the harbors. With an amazing view over the Bosphorus.

Some bathroom fixtures did not work, most of the staff was very empathetic and very attentive, but not all unfortunately. The owner should be more attentive.

the entrance of the hotel was in an alley so at times it did not feel safe.
the staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. they gave us helpful tips for travelling around istanbul and carried our suitcases. the breakfast was also decent.

Bed was very hard. A mattress topper is desperately needed.
Excellent t location, close to sights but tucked away to a quiet street. Restaurants, shops and a 24/7 minimarket just around the corner. Excellent staff, with a good and service minded attitude. Excellent cleanliness, Excellent breakfast. I will happily recommend to a friend and would return without hesitation.

Everything was good.
The hotel was good. Really liked staffs' attitude. They helped with the map, restaurants, places to visit and gave good advises. The beds were nice, just as i like, not as hard as i expected reading other reviews.

Nothing except maybe the mattress was a bit too firm for me, but it is a personal choice.
Highly recommended, the location is perfect for going into old town and it is a small quiet street. Room 501 has a fantastic view. Staff is very respectful and helped me a lot during my stay. Breakfast was delicious and varied from one day to the next.

My three days stay at Cape Palace Hotel was absolutely wonderful. I highly recommend this hotel. Everyone there was very polite, always willing to help. Breakfast is exquisite plus la salle à manger is spotless. Location cannot be any better!

Not that i didn’t like that was old style throughout Europe.Rooms are bit undersized to current standard but still comfortable.
Friendly staff, contacted me days earlier to organise transport from and to AirPort, most impressed how clean it is and 24h Reception attendance.

The area is good for a first visit to Istanbul, but too touristic. Better look for something in Galata or Besiktas if looking for something more “real”.
Good location, really closed from most of Istanbul atractions and quite reasonable price. The place is also quiet. The breakfast is quite bearable, mix of continental and Turkish.

Nothing to complain about at all
Superb location, close to historical sites, but tucked away in a peaceful dead end back street. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great and the organised airport transfer was hassle free - great when arriving late into such a busy city.

The refrigerator was unplugged and it was a hassle to plug it. The refrigerator had an odor.
Location was close to what I wanted to see in the old city. The room was very clean.

It was much better than expected, I liked the location, it was super useful! The breakfast was simple but reeeeally good, the room was excellent! Quiet road, natural light, large bathroom with very nice design, excellent cleaning everyday and fresh towels, the staff was suuuuper nice and helpful, the cleaning lady was suuuper nice with good vibes! Also, very important, Enes the receptionist was especially nice, super helpful with advice and super helpful in everything we needed! Thank you, hope to see you again soon.

Nothing, I really like this place, I would stay here again.
Great hotel, absolutely amazing staff. We had a great time here. The rooms are small but comfortable, there is AC and the windows close well, so you can rest.
