Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

The property is exceptional. Very clean, the rooms are very comfortable and have all the necessary amenities. It also has a big terrace with a great view, where you can enjoy a cup of tea or wine. The location is very central and you can easily walk to most of Mardin’s attractions, as well as restaurants and stores. And the staff and the owner are very kind and helpful. They will immediately help with any additional support you might need.

AustraliaSometimes you strike it lucky. And we did. The hotel owner is a hands-on professional man of his trade. He has a passion for his business, his guests and for the region of Mardin. He also has a heart of gold. We experienced much kindness, and an absolute trustworthy person. With his guidance we hired a driver to tour the historical sights of the region. Again, we met a lovely man, Mahmet Bata, who showed us a few of the many historical treasures of the region. With Mahmet we felt safe and protected as we toured the region, all at realistic prices.
Carra Konagi has a fabulous location, elevated but within the old city with fantastic views over the Mesopotamian plans. The hotel is within the heritage UNESCO city. It has been rebuilt accordingly and has all the comforts of modern conveniences and the charm of the ancient world. Even more charming is the warmth of reception by the owner, Nuh Yildrim and his staff.

CanadaThe owner was extremely helpful, and remained in constant contact when I had a very delayed border crossing from Iraqi Kurdistan and I ended up arriving in the early hours of the morning. This set the tone for the rest of my stay - very attentive and helpful, and I ended up extending my stay and my room was upgraded for no extra cost. He also spoke excellent English (as well as various other languages). The hotel is in an excellent central location in the absolutely beautiful and historic town of Mardin.

South AfricaThe bathroom was enclosed by frosted glass. This was a little awkward as I shared the room with my two teenagers (son and daughter). However, for 1 night it was fine.
The overall experience was amazing, from check in to check out. All the staff were friendly. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. We were met by one of the employees when the bus dropped us off at the main road. The location is excellent as it is near all the main attractions within walking distance. Breakfast was lovely on the terrace.

This hotel is in the beautiful Old Town of Mardin very close to all the town has to offer. Noah and his team/family are excellent hosts. The room we had was large, the facilities excellent. Breakfast was on the terrace with a magnificent view of the Mezopotamya plain. They really looked after us including walking us to the pick up point of our departure including giving us his number just in case our guide did not turn up there (he did).

BulgariaHardly anything.
Breakfast was excellent - leaving apart the wide choice of food, there was specifically a real variety of different types of cheese and olives, making it a memorable Mediterranean breakfast. The room was cozy in the authentic Mardin architectural interior plus the bed was very good and comfortable. The owner and manager is responsive to all needs of the guests doing a great job.

AustraliaFriendly staff, delicious breakfast with a gorgeous view, and an excellent location (a short walking distance to the centre of the city). The hotel building is over 1100 years old - a magnificent experience on its own! The owner is very professional and respectful. He is always willing to help with any questions. I recommend this place to anybody wishing to experience this beautiful city!

United StatesThe room we had was comfortable though it had an awkward bathroom arrangement. Of course, the modern bathroom had to be fitted to an ancient building. The challenge mostly was the entrance to the room is thru the bathroom, so thoughtful planning is needed when people need to leave the room while someone is using the bathroom!
The hotel has a unique history and character. This makes the stay more special. And the staff were always there to help, bringing tea to helping navigate the car!

PolandI wanted to mention that there is no parking directly available at the hotel. However, the staff helps with finding a car park and even helps with carrying luggage. Additionally, I noticed that the bathroom could use a bit of a refresh - the toilet was a bit "wobbly". Another thing that stood out to me was the lack of ambient lighting in our room. There were no side lights, floor lamps, or any other sources of ambient light. Additionally, there weren't enough wall sockets in my opinion. However, aside from those minor issues, everything was perfect.
The hotel's location is beautiful and the building is well-maintained. The staff is exceptionally friendly. Additionally, their terrace is stunning and offers a breathtaking view.

AustraliaCarra Konagi is an 1,100 year old building that has been restored to a high standard preserving many of the original historic features. We were lucky to get a tour of most of the guest rooms as we arrived before the other guest checked-in. There are 7 rooms with various interesting features and larger family rooms. The owner speaks English, Turkish and German and is a gracious and friendly host who's full of local knowledge. Nothing was too much trouble, the staff are all friendly, The place is cosy and comfortable, views and location are perfect. Breakfast is generous and freshly made. Rooftop terrace perfect for evening views or choice of comfy indoor areas to relax on 2 other floors. Car parking nearby at reasonable daily rates. We highly recommend this boutique hotel if you are staying in Mardin, Turkey.

BulgariaNothing.
Everything exceeded our expectations. Atmosphere of the hotel corresponds to that of the town. You feel like in an ancient castle! Spacious room, clean bathroom and toilet, beautiful view and of course - the amazingly hospitable host Nuh. He arranged everything we needed, a tour around the region, taxis and transfers. The breakfast was traditional and plentiful. The location of the hotel is perfect- walking distance to all sights in Mardin. Wi-Fi is perfect even in the rooms. We definitely recommend Carra Konagi and will return for sure.

Me and my daughter had an amazing experience at the Carra Hotel. The staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. We were given lots of information about Mardin and and the owner Mete arranged a taxi tour for us which was an incredible experience. The taxi driver Mehmet took us around for the entire day and was extremely knowledgeable of the area. We had a great time. The hotel itself was beautiful with a gorgeous traditional interior design. I highly recommend getting tea and sitting at the terrace, which offers a gorgeous view. Thank you to Yildiz and Bekir for the lovely breakfast and for being very friendly. Overall, our experience was 10/10 and we hope to make another trip in the future!

LithuaniaAuthentic hotel with absolutly helpful owner and staff. Located just in the centre of Mardin Old city and hotel itself let to feel Mardin atmosphere. Owner was very attentive and helped with parking and shared information what to see and where to eat 😊. We had very nice traditional Turkish breakfast at hotel. As hotel situated just in the middle of the old city, its better to keep in mind that to get to the hotel you can thought quite challenging steps.

TurkeyCarra Konagi is the perfect location for exploring Mardin. It is less than 5 minutes' walk from the main square on Caddesi 1 and perfect for reaching many of the sites that this historic town has to offer. The hotel arranged a taxi from the airport and the driver also acted as my guide the following day when I toured the ruins at Dara and the Deyrulzafaran Monastery. The staff are absolutely delightful (good English and German spoken) and the breakfast on both days of my stay was delicious and nourishing. Excellent value all round.
