Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThis is our second stay at Green Mountain Hotel, and the staff is the best, especially Mussa at the front desk. We enjoy the pool and the green area nearby where you can sit out and have a drink. The restaurant and the waitstaff are excellent. Everyone takes really good care of you.

South AfricaThis property is definitely not what it is advertised as. It is more of a motel than a hotel. Our room had a double bed with a bar fridge as the night stand. The toilet and shower was all in one. Went to use the toilet and my knees was against the wall, that’s how tiny it was. There was no other rooms available to us. The shower was a cold one as the heaters don’t heat up for long so you would be very lucky to get a hot shower for 5minutes. The shower floods your room and by the next morning we just about had enough. The air conditioning and TV did not work. The bedroom was flooded from the show across the room. We were offered to go have breakfast whilst the poor housekeeper cleaned up the floors. Breakfast was a joke, the hot buffet felt like the previous nights dinner was dished up and if you order from the room service menu, the food comes an hour later. A medium steak will give your jaw a good workout because it’s that overcooked. We got one room”upgraded” to an “executive” room, this has a tv and an actual night stand. Not much else changed. Both my husband and daughter ended up being unwell from cold showers. The “executive” room is above the restaurant and you’d be blessed to have a peaceful night sleep if it wasn’t so noisy.
The staff were great.

United KingdomWe arrived here after an 11 hour journey and were greeted by a wonderful member of staff who took our bags, dusted them off, showed us to our room and just made our arrival so positive. The staff were great. The family room clean and large. The restaurant has loads of variety and although it took a while to come it was because it was all handmade and fresh. And they even packed us a breakfast to take for the early 5am bus. Thank you!

NorwayNoisy from street at night. Bad smell in bathroom. Unbelievely ineffective service in the restaurant at the dinner buffet. Had to ask for glasses maybe 10 times. A lot of food were empty and was not refilled.

DenmarkWe stayed there before and after the safari and if I hadn't already paid we would never have returned! Our first room was a rooftop room for 4 people, but there were no pillows or bedside lamps for two of the beds and an unfinished kitchen and shabby furniture. But most of all, there was so much noise from the street - even though we were on the 4th floor - that we couldn't sleep. The windows could not close completely. Therefore, we emphatically asked for quiet rooms for the next night, which they promised us. We got two rooms, one of which was just below the rooftop room and with the same noise due to bad windows. In addition, a continuous noise from a machine from the hotel itself, noisy from 01 am to 06 am. The second room we got was completely without windows, but here too we could hear the noise from the hotel machine (perhaps the aircom system) so much that we couldn't sleep here either. When we complained to the reception, they promised to turn off the machine but it didn't happen. In addition, these rooms also had shabby furniture and electrical cords hanging from the wall. The breakfast was far from home-made, and when we ate in the hotel's restaurant on the last evening, my adult son became ill from their signature burger. First and only time one of us got sick from food on our 14 day trip in Tanzania. Overall. Find another hotel.

DenmarkA lot of noise and bright light entered the room, so remember to bring earplugs and an eye mask. The Wi-Fi was down the entire last day on our floor. We asked when it would be fixed, and they said "soon," but it never happened. The shower was cold even though we had turned on the heater. There was only hot water for 30 seconds, and the drain would clog immediately, causing water to flood the floor. The room was very small. They lost two pairs of our socks in the laundry and couldn't find them. They claimed we hadn't handed them over, even though they had signed the count and talked to us at the reception. It's just not acceptable. We wanted to visit the Napuru waterfall and asked them about the price if they arranged transportation. They said it would cost us $50. Instead, we took a tuk-tuk, and it only cost $5. So they tried to rip us off with a $45 difference for a 20-minute ride.
Approximate breakfast, not really amazing.

CanadaThe decor is weird. Lots of grade changes, in unusual places. Our room didn’t have a window to the outside, only on to the hall, which we didn’t like.
This hotel is in a great location, on a walkable street with lots of useful shops and services, eg. a minimart, a liquor store to buy wine and beer, a couple of drugstores, and I was also able to get a Teva sandal repaired while I waited.

United StatesThe room AC wasn't working properly. The mattress was super hard. The furniture was old. The room they moved us to after the first one AC wasn't working that room shower hot water only last for a minute. There was some exposed wire behind the bed next to the wet room AKA bathroom. The door hit the sink when opening. It's so much I don't want to give Green Mountain Hotel anymore og my energy.
The breakfast was ok could have use a variety of meat.

NetherlandsThe noise! We saw only 2 reviews about the dogs. We stayed in one of the last rooms in the building and didn't sleep because of the 5 dogs of the neighbour behind kept us awake the whole night. My husband is a light sleeper, but I normally sleep through everything. Even I couldn't sleep and had a terrible night. Food is average and very salty The beds are short for an european (1.70-1.80m) This is common in Tanzania, but still expect to sleep with your feet out of the bed.
Staff is very friendly. They tried everything for us like calling tour operators. We even got a free upgrade :)

PolandNothing. Everything was perfect!
We stayed at Green Mountain the first night after arrival to Arusha and liked it so much that we booked it also for last two nights. Both rooms we had were spacious and clean, and there was a cleaning service doing our beds everyday (which we didn't expect). Green Mountain has also a very friendly and talkative staff (warm greetings to Bahati Nzuri "Good Luck") and they serve an exceptional huge breakfast - we loved it! The hotel's restaurant serves fresh local food - we tried chicken in peanut sauce, chipsi Mayai, and tilapia fish in coconut sauce. It's worth it to be patient and wait around 30 minutes for each of the delicious dishes (waiting for food in Tanzania is a standard as everything is being prepared fresh). Next to the hotel is a gas station where you can easily get a boda-boda, bajaji or dala-dala to the center. You can also find a minimarket next door and a fruit stand just on the opposite side of the road.
