How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

I’d add some sign at the door that that’s a hotel entrance instead of only having it on the outside arch. I arrived at night and freaked out when I couldn’t find the entrance (I missed the photo they sent me in a thread of emails).
It’s a wonderful stylish hotel in the heart of Kyiv with amazing comfy facilities. I loved the smell and the light in the lobby and the amazing toiletries with a heavenly scent in the room. The staff was very friendly and even landed me a tooth paste when I noticed I forgot to grab it with me. The room was comfortable and tidy, and I love that there is a complete kitchen for storing and warming up takeaways or even cooking if it’s a longer stay. An iron stored in the the wardrobe was very handy! Super comfy bed, enough storage space for luggage, clothes, and good rest, cool bathroom with bathrobes in there.

The location is optimal. The staff exceptional. I am thankful that all the staff are safe and well during these times. Besides the obvious war going, everything was very nice. Staff great. I hope to return again soon. I look forward to returning.

Everything was fine :)
We spent three days in Owntown Apart Hotel and it was wonderful! Our studio was nice, bright and clean, it had everything we could possibly need. We also loved the minimalistic interior and lovely plants! The bed, pillows and linen were very comfortable, so we've been having a really good sleep during our stay :) The location is just perfect, right in the city center. However the best advantage of this place seems to be the team behind it, the contact with the staff was really great, everyone was nice and very helpful! Overall, we're extremely happy, that we chose this place for our stay!

Apartment is not soundproof as it says in description. If you are light sleeper as I am, you will hear people from another apartment.
Perfect bed. Most beautiful apartment I stayed in. Everything is done with style. Details are perfect.

wasn't easy to find the hotel in the beginning other than that everything is perfect
close to everything . in the center very quite and super clean room with a little balcony the Netflix account provided in the smart Tv was a great touch the kitchen was good with everything needed there was a water cooler in the lobby close to the room overall the place exceeded my expectation in an amazing way

It was a bit hard to locate the property, some guidance on which entrance and what floor to go to would be helpful. Some dishes were missed on cleaning, like frying pan was in oil probably leftover from previous customers
The property was unique and comfortable. The staff was nice and helpful. We liked the design and enjoyed the tea with the complementary nuts and jam they provided. Especially kids like their special den. We found everything we need and we liked that it is so close to main locations.

Great location, quiet, balcony, super comfortable bed, all what you need is inside this Condo, nice bathroom, refrigerator, cooking facilities, snacks for free, extremely friendly receptionist. 10 points not enough

While everything was very nice, I felt like the room was quite over-priced and was a little disappointed with the inability to check out even an hour late.
Beautiful facilities with a very contemporary design. They also provided free snacks and water which was very appreciated.

A modernly beautifully designed apartment, with nice facilities also, high security standards, nice cleanliness, the location is really amazing in the heart of kiev, the staff were very kind, and the girl from the desk helped with arranging a corona test before my flight, in general i would highly recommend this place.

The front of the building doesn’t give a good first impression, as it is a bit decrepit. We arrived at night and there are no lights in the common areas.
