More than 2 mugs in the room and a kitchen trash can would be helpful.

The private beach with kayaks was an unexpected bonus to a stay that matched our expectations. The staff was very friendly. The property is lovely and it is clear that a lot of care went into setting up a welcoming environment. My kids loved the giant TV and the memory foam mattress was so comfortable!

The only thing we don't like is that the bathroom was very small. The shower was almost impossible to use due to size.

i wished housekeeping would at least vacuum and make the beds when they come in. the one thing they need to at least update is the door handles, they’re old and i almost got locked in the bathroom because i couldn’t get it to turn.

loved the rooms and the location

Due to the weather it would have been nice to watch the TV channels promised, with it being such a small room watching movies is a big plus. Small dislike there was no stirrers for our coffee and we love coffee especially in the morning.

Very cute, nicely updated with its own old charm. Bed was very comfy and my favorite part was the little table and chairs outside. Heat and air conditioning work well.

Cozy One-Night Stay Location, best in the Spring and Summer.

The main concern was safety. The doors had one doorknob lock on the outside and a chain, but no deadbolt. We also stayed during a colder month, so it was very cold in the room, especially on the floors. The heater could not keep the room warm due to a moderate/strong draft coming from underneath the door. However, the provided bedding kept the two of us plenty warm. Our sleep wasn't affected by the cold. Finally, the entrance from the road (and the parking lot, too) is a dirt road. Normally, this isn't much of an issue besides patches of mud, but during the winter months ice/snow and dirt roads don't mix well. So, if you plan to stay in the winter, know that the parking lot will be difficult to traverse without slipping.

The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The shower was clean, looked nice, and was consistently warm with no unwanted fluctuation in temperature. The nautical theme was spot on for the location. All amenities were covered, and the room even included a self-serve coffee maker with coffee and tea options. The room itself was perfect for 1-2 people; it was cozy, but not cramped. The staff was very friendly and responsive.

It was a little tight to move around the bathroom especially between the toilet and the wall. I did suggest a top sheet be added for people who like a light covering and the person at reception did take note and responded kindly.

The location is good. Anchor Inn was quaint, updated and clean. We stayed in a room with a queen size bed. Overall, a good place to stay if you want more of a cottage feel vs a hotel room. The bed was comfortable. We had a microwave, refrigerator and wine glasses provided.

I would only suggest perhaps adding a folding chair in the room (I stayed in the room with a queen bed) and maybe a pull bar in the bathroom either at the toilet or in the shower for those that are older and have difficulties getting up.

It was a perfect place to stay. It has everything you need. It is very family friendly and I would highly recommend and would return! Thank you so much.

The Anchor Inn has perfect rusticator cabins for those that want to be close to the water and Traverse City Downtown without being right in the thick of it. We enjoyed being able to bring our pup with us as well and appreciated the extra mile the staff went to to ensure our comfort!
