Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesI felt that the price was a little high but I think that’s true in most places in Austin.
We loved the location and the fun retro vibe of the place! The pool was great one super hot day and having the pool bar was the cherry on the cake! The bed was super comfy and I liked having robes available. The rooms have a fun, retro vibe and had everything we needed. The staff was very friendly and the little store in the lobby has everything you need. We would definitely stay there again!

United StatesTheir cancellation policy is a little strange, but the staff was very understanding and helpful.
The woman working at the front desk was so helpful and friendly! The location is unbeatable with so many things to do nearby. On hot days the pool would be the perfect way to unwind and enjoy the unique surroundings.

United StatesRoom 300, the upstairs floor squeaked quite a bit which was annoying with night owls up through 4AM Could use a book at the office to help point you in directions for what to see, where to eat, don't miss etc.
Room size was great, bed was really comfortable, bathroom area spacious and shower had good heat and pressure. Pool was beautiful

United StatesIt was a little pricey
The motel was off of South Congress street so a good area for downtown exploring. There was ample parking and a restaurant next to the motel. We got upgraded to a king sized bed which was nice. The room was comfy, cool and pretty quiet considering it was on the first floor and right next to the pool.

United StatesThe property could benefit from a refresh investment because it looks worn for the price per day.
The location was the best because it was in walking distance to SOCO shopping, dining, and congress bridge bats. Free parking. Free pool. The motel marketing is fun.

United StatesLight sleepers beware! The motel is really loud. I heard every door open and close, every passerby, every car start and each neighbor in their rooms. I understand it's a motel so by nature, your room is facing public areas but there are some things I feel the motel could put in place to make it a little quieter - like soft close doors, adding thick curtains (maybe double pane windows) and some soundproofing in the rooms. The motel was really really cool but I wouldn't go back just because I never slept well.
Staff was super friendly and just all around lovely and helpful. The location is PERFECT! It's near a ton of restaurants, shops and bars. The decor and vibe is super cool.

United Statesthis hotel is a little bit pricey for what you get - the amenities are very simple, which is fine - everything was clean - but it was a little bit dated and run down (though fun decor) and so just didn't quite feel worth what we paid
This hotel is in the perfect spot along south congress with tons of shops and restaurants around. it's a great place to stop over for a night or few in Austin. plus the decor is so fun! it's a unique and fun visit.

United StatesI booked a queen room and upon arrival realized the building more dilapidated than expected. I knew its older property but I thought it would be better kept/renovated. Room was tiny, floors had a slant that gave me vertigo symptoms, bathroom was a squeeze space, bubble bed kinda gross, and walls are paper thin so normal conversations was heard.
The location is everything when we visit Austin we like to walk Soco (S. Congress) for all the little shops and food options. The staff is super friendly and extremely responsive. The xmas tree area was adorable.

United StatesI am a light sleeper and the room was really bright at night from the streetlights outside. Blackout curtains would have gone a long way.
This iconic hotel on South Congress is in a great location and overall is a lot of fun. The rooms are quirky, there is a pool with a bar, and you’re right in the middle of the tourist action. It’s an old building and we ran into a couple of issues - a door that wouldn’t open and a very squeaky hinge- but the staff were helpful and friendly and quickly resolved our issues.
