Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United StatesThe shared bathrooms were not well suited for the purposes of a hotel. The toilets were wobbly, the bathrooms were poorly lit, and neither was equipped with grab bars.
The bed was comfortable, and the place was VERY quiet. I really appreciated the secure, keyless entry and the easy access to the Red Line. There are numerous restaurants nearby, including all you can eat sushi across the street.

United KingdomThere were a few issues, the clock in the room was integrated into the mirror and cast a blue light that was super bright with no way to turn it off or dim it, which made sleeping really challenging. The second issue I had was the smell of cigarette smoke - it's a no smoking hotel however I believe the person in the room next door had been smoking extensively, so when I came back to my room on the first night it was overwhelming, and I couldn't sleep because of it. Finally, although there is an aircon vent in the room, this is not controlled for each individual room therefore you have no real control of the climate, to the point that my room reached 80F one night and I had no way of turning the AC on.
My stay at Hotel BnB was ok, the great thing about the hotel were the staff who were really helpful and did their best to help me in a timely manner, for example allowing me to schedule a late check out, and helping provide a temporary cover for the clock in the room which was extremely bright.

United StatesNo paper towels were in either bathroom my entire stay to dry my hands after washing. There was loud talking at times in the hall it was the staff not the residents. There is an emergency exit door that I saw a guy open, exit then enter back in, that was concerning because he could have easily let his friends in.
Great location, I felt safe in the area. Close to convenience like coffee, groceries, food, snacks and cta train. To watch TV you have to use headphones(provided), I didn't expect that but I guess it makes sense to not disturb the rooms around you. Room was as expected a bed a tray and a tv, nothing fancy. You also get a little window to look out at the other rooms (no outside window). At night you are locked behind 2 doors from the outside PLUS your own room door so thats pretty safe to me.

United StatesThe blanket & linens on the bed were a old and need some updating. The SHARED bathroom wasnt dirty, but needed to be updated. I didnt feel comfortable taking a shower and i've stayed in hostels before.
The location was great. The room was clean, quiet and the WiFi in the room was the best i've ever had in a hotel room and I've stayed in a lot of hotel rooms.
