The bottom of the driveway needs some work, so unless you have a large or off road vehicle, you cannot get up the driveway without it damaging the bottom of car. Bathroom needed cleaning (spiderwebs on ceiling corner, small particles of something including tiny pieces of glass and dust on the countertops, shower, and toilet). The bathroom needed a good wipe down when we got there. Towels could also use updating. I tried to send pictures and a message to the owner saying we didn't mind wiping down, but they might want to keep that in mind for future guests. I did not get a response. Communication seemed to be set on auto-reply.

The location was great. The house is cute and walking distance to coffee shops and grocery stores. The beds were comfortable and the house had a cute back patio. It was easy to come and go using the lock box for the door.

The location is great, close to attractions and grocery shopping. The house looks nice. love the private backyard. Kitchenware are sufficient, most of everything are in good shape.

I am adding the below information more to be infomative than as a negative reflection on the property. We had rented the home with a backyard imagining that with such a small house we could utilize the backyard given our party of 7. Unfortunately it's not nearly as inviting as the photos. We spent zero time there. The chairs were dirty and there was a platter in the garden. Just very unkempt. The BBQ was rusted out (we asked for it to be replaced but they couldn't get to it until the day before we left). It is a very old home which is not a complaint...just know that the plumbing is slow and there is a bit of an odor in the bathroom and all the usual things you'd expect with an older home. The pullout beds aren't very comfortable but an OK spot for young kids...keep in mind there is only one bathroom for larger parties. The floors looked clean on arrival but they really weren't (possibly cleaned with a dirty mop). As stated the location has great access as it's is very central, but there are transients which is common for that area. If the yard was usable we would stay again.

Cute little house with updated furnishings..it is nicely decorated and inside was for the most part clean. It is close in proximity to Balboa Park and some nice restaurants. The beds in the bedrooms are comfortable. The cute swings on the front porch were a favorite for us! Overall we have good memories of our stay with our family and the price was great.

There were a lot of things that could of been better. We didn't realize the backyard was a shared property so I had to keep an eye on my dog to make sure she didn't go to the neighbors side of the yard. Also the BBQ and patio in the yard had sooo many spiderwebs, didn't feel comfortable hanging out there for a long period of time. The bathroom wasn't clean. There were remains of the last guests such as hair on the sink and shower and it had a weird odor, even with the window open it didn't help. Its only one bathroom so this wouldnt be suitable for more than 4 guest. Also the sink in the bathroom didn't have any hot water, so when we needed it, we had to use the kitchen sink. The bedroom near the from of the house had stained bedsheets, and we had to remove it from use since we were not comfortable using it. We didn't realize the bunk beds were suitable for children only, I don't think a grown adult would be comfortable in that room. Also the house has cockaroaches. We found a few in the kitchen the last night we spent there and we were paranoid knowing the house had them and were ready to leave in the morning. We avoided using the room next to the kitchen since we were scared roaches would be in that room as well, since the bottom bunk bed is on the floor. I get it that it's an older house, but there's so much work to be put into before it can be rented out. Such as the clean up/extermination issue to be dealt w/. Also the driveway situation is crazy, it's a curved hill. So if you have an SUV, compact lifted car, or normal sized truck; you should be fine. If you have a Sportscar that is super low to the ground, I wouldn't try to park there.

The location was great. It was nice to get to our destination within 10-20 mins from the house.

another contact method they have on file for the owner, asking us to try that. Booking.com relayed they would refund us if they could but they essentially have no authority to do so and suggested we leave a review to warn other customers. Attempted to contact the owner via the alternate method. No response. The next day reached out again to the phone number contact, asking if refund was being processed. They only replied that they forwarded the images to the owner. So, didn't actually answer the question. Attempted to reach owner again. Booking.com suddenly relays that a representative of the property is now claiming we refused an offer to have the property cleaned and therefore a refund is being denied. We explained to Booking.com no offer was ever made, nor was any offer refused as we have all communications in writing and forwarded screenshots proving so. So now we have property representatives flat out lying. Also, we pointed out the obvious that properties should be cleaned BEFORE renters arrive, not "offered" to be cleaned three days after they arrive, not that it was offered anyway. To date, 6th of June, still no response from owner, and we are out the $800+ dollars we paid for the rental and the hundreds of dollars in food we had brought thinking we were going to have access to a fridge and grill for our family vacation but eventually had to throw out.

Nothing. Arrived around 445pm 22 May to find rental smelling like recently cleaned up pet feces. After checking things out we notice there are spiders with established webs in living room and kitchen, and the remains of a large smashed and smeared cockroach left on wall in the bedroom off of the kitchen. Water damaged walls with bubbling paint and likely black mold on laundry room window sill. Heater and vents hadn't been dusted in weeks or months. Gross brown growth or substance on about four feet of living room floor molding. Random smudges of brown substances on door ways. Rusty screw sticking out of door jamb in bathroom. Trash in the front yard. Cobwebs in door arches. Mostly filthy and obviously not properly cleaned prior to our arrival. All in all completely unacceptable. We scrambled to find last minute accommodations for the evening. Emailed the owner via the booking.com portal address and texted the phone number for left to us by the owner for urgent issues, relaying condition of rental and requested refund telling them we were leaving. We were out the door and on the road within about 1-1.5 hours. Phone number contact, who was apparently responsible for "urgent issues" and "cleaning," per the owner, apologized for not meeting standards and asked for pictures, which we then sent. They said nothing further. The following morning there was still no response from the owner. Contacted booking.com who stated they saw the email complaint and would attempt to contact the owner. Booking.com tried multiple contact attempts and relayed they could not reach owner and so gave us

no bath mat in shower, toilet sounded like it was running at all times, but it did flush and work ok. There were only three spoons but plenty of other eating utensils. The spoon situation worked because there were only 3 of us. The drive way was horrible! it scraped the bottom of my car every time I went up or down. We had to remove passengers and luggage to make less weight in back of car when using driveway and that didn't help much. A man who seemed to be a handyman for the house said he hadn't had the time to fix the driveway situation. He also presumably did some work in the house but when we came home the front door was open and unlocked. We had locked it when we left the house. I got rather frequent e-mails asking me for my e-mail address which I had already provided and the host said it had been received. I guess it was some unstoppable automatic message? Still not sure my car is ok.

House was great. It was clean and comfortable. Really enjoyed the stay and would recommend to anyone visiting the area. Very close to Sea World, the zoo, and the beach. On-site parking was a huge plus. Great vacation stay.

There were plumbing issues (toilet was leaking and the bathroom sink drain was slow). The host offered to send a handyman, but this should have been addressed before renting it. I don't go on vacation to deal with plumbers. The space was also a bit smaller than as described - the bedrooms are pretty small, and the 3rd bedroom was actually just a back entrance with a bed in it. The front yard was smelly and there was trash on the lawn.

The house was conveniently located near Balboa Park and just good driving distance to beaches and other points of interest, as well as grocery stores. The beds and space were comfortable enough, and liked that there was AC and on-site laundry. The backyard was nice and spacious, though we didn't end up hanging out there.
