Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United StatesThe shower floor was dirty which I was able to easily clean it but shouldn’t have had to. I stayed for two days and asked for someone to come in to just take the trash and leave one more clean towel. I was gone from noon to 10 at night. When I got back I had to take my own trash down and ask for my own towel. A bit disappointed. I asked for late check considering the website said it was available. The woman just said no with no explanation. I said I didn’t have a ride until noon. She said I can wait an hour in the lobby.
The breakfast was good. The location was ok.

United StatesThe power was out in my room for the rest of my stay. I know it was due to a storm and not the fault of the hotel. There was auxiliary power in the hallway but the emergency light did not work in my room. There were rooms with power but I was not offered a change. I'm 77 and had to climb 5 flights of stairs several times and come down with my luggage. The night staff were kind and helped me find a restaurant close-by. I was concerned about finding parking if I moved my car to go and eat but he told me that they were not full, so I know there were other rooms. Some rooms, even on my floor had power but no one offered to move me to one of those or even to a lower room without power, or to a room with working emergency lights. I know the staff were overwhelmed with the storm and lack of power but should have made some accommodations for people's needs. They were not checking in any other guests and should have been trying to accommodating the ones they had. They could have found another hotel for me. I learned the next day that most hotels in the area did not lose power. I use a CPAP machine which I could not plug in. I did not sleep. In the morning, I carried the loaned flashlight down to the breakfast room along with my luggage and one of the morning staff people accused me of taking the light from the stairwell. When I told her I had received it the night before so I wouldn't fall in my room, she just snatched it up from the table and walked away. I've already received a receipt for the full price of the room and that is just not right. I have called the hotel customer service and will hopefully hear something in a few days. I always use Booking for my reservations so I'm hoping that you can add a voice to this discussion.
Everything was fine when I arrived and the staff were very friendly. My room was fine for a short time until a storm came through and caused some power outages. My room lost power and it went downhill from there.

United StatesI didn’t like that as I was traveling, my 4 year old son got sick with a fever and gastro problems, so we called saying that we didn’t think we would make it there. We asked for a refund and some understanding, as we were traveling with 3 children. They did not refund nor did they ever respond to follow up calls and emails. I would never stay here again and will seriously consider if I had Hampton Inn again at all

Fortunately, there was a spare blanket in the closet. Check-in was 40 minutes past normal check-in time.

United StatesI felt unwelcome the entire time at this hotel, as well as the place was dirty and smelled terrible. As soon as we arrived, still shell shocked from driving in one of the worst snow storms, and very late (early morning), we were greeted with an eye raise and "do you even have a reservation?" and saying yes, "well your room is dirty." Why? We arrived so late it shouldn't be dirty. I tried to explain this multiple times, and finally she took my name, and realized we had a room. Staff were rude, smoking everywhere - in the elevators, stairwells, and our room smelled like that strong chemical smell mixed with smoke, like when someone tries to hide the smoking. My allergies acted up the whole time and I had to wash everything I brought with me as soon as I got home. Also we had a dog with us and she told us the rules, to sneak in the back doors and not use the lobby. But every time I snuck in a back door, I would get called to the desk to report my room number, and then told to remove my dog from the lobby - where I would explain that I was trying to avoid the lobby because I know the rules. But I've never stayed anywhere that whenever I go near the lobby, I get asked what my room number is, as if I didn't belong even though I had a key to get in the back door. I have stayed at many Hampton Inns which are lovely, so this was a shock. Halfway into the stay we were told we are not allowed to go on the elevator with my old dog, so I helped her up and down 4 flights of stairs each time I took her out, just to have to navigate around cigarette butts and food garbage both morning and night. I just felt I tried to do everything right, never complained once, just tried to follow the rules, and I was always wrong and always being questioned and then disgusted smelling smoke all the time.
Location was fantastic - right off of the highways. I appreciated that the hotel enforced the mask rule (especially in the time of Omicron). I also appreciated that the cleaning and breakfast staff went out of their way to be helpful on multiple occasions - once even ran down the hall to help me into my room in a precarious moment of juggling my breakfast and trying to get my key to work.
