The property is starting to show its age, at least in the lobby where there was noticeable cracking and peeling of the ceiling and adjacent walls.

The bed was very comfortable. The location is very close to Monument Square and is walking distance to Old Port.

The Westin Portland Harborview is a very nice hotel located in the heart of Portland, Maine. It is not far from the interstate, and there are lots of shops, restaurants and historical attractions nearby. On this occasion, we were taking in a play at the Portland Stage, just a block away. After the play, we enjoyed the panoramic view with a nightcap and snacks at the Top of the East, located on the 15th floor. The Eggs Benedict at the C2 restaurant the next morning were cooked perfectly. The staff at the hotel and restaurants were pleasant and attentive, and the valet had our car ready promptly at check out.

Overall, nothing major to not like. The only thing that was kind of meh was the lighting. I can't speak for all rooms, but at least in ours there was only a light switch in the bathroom and the main light by the door. The other lights throughout the living room and bedroom area were manual. This at times made for a pretty dark room and having to feel your way to a light. ...we managed fine.

We stayed in a 1 Bedroom Junior Suite, and found the room comfortable with plenty of space. One of the favorite parts was the shower, it truly was great! The amenities were also fine, with more than adequate gym facilities. Elevators were quick and don't recall really having to wait for one. The staff was friendly and on the few times I stopped by they were always willing to help.

I didn't like the housekeeping staff entering my room just before 8am while I was asleep which woke me up and the shower had hair in it when we arrived.

The room cleaning schedule seemed very disjointed and different each day, and there didn't seem to be clear messaging on how to indicate what should or should not be cleaned? We would always hang up our towels with the intention that they were not replaced but some days they would be and others they wouldn't be. And then when we would leave towels on the ground to indicate that we were done with them, they would be left on the ground after housekeeping had already come through and cleaned the bathroom.

Every interaction we had with the reception (check in, check out, asking for additional amenities that we were looking for in our room) was exceptional! The staff was so friendly and quick with all the requests. It really felt personable rather than the usual formal/sterile hotel experience!

The windows do not open and you breathe not fresh air, but air-conditioned. The main complaint is that we could not get through to the hotel by phone in contacts. This is unacceptable

A very comfortable hotel in a great location. Excellent breakfast. But you should be aware that breakfast is on the menu and this makes the process a little more complicated and longer.

unfortunately the housekeeper knocked once, unlocked door and then tried to walk in! they woke us up as they were walking in... it was a bit unsettling! we did not have our “do not disturb” sign hanging from doorknob… we also were overcharged! there’s an additional charge for $70+ on our credit card! could this be for 1 can of soup? ugh. I will be calling to straighten this out!

You can't open the windows, it's just air conditioned air which makes you feel pretty claustrophobic and feel uncomfortable so I wouldn't stay more than one day, shame!

Shower drain was a bit clogged. Panhandlers in the area can be aggressive when out walking (but that's true in almost any city these days).

The room and bathroom were clean. There was a view of the harbor in the distance, which was nice. The bed was comfortable and the room was very quiet.

The food from room service was awful. We tried to go up to the top floor for drinks and dinner but it was too crowded and we didn’t want to wait the 40 minutes so we ordered room service which was awful. It was too salty and the beet salad tasted funky.

We were very pleased and impressed with the size, comfort and cleanliness of the rooms. The little extras around the room, like extra bottles of water, extra pillows on the beds, scented lavender, clean white towels and a great shower all made our stay very enjoyable. we would definitely stay there again.

Sheets/towels were scratchy. A/C allowed you to set 60, but only cooled down to 69.
