Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Czech RepublicThere weren´t any hood in the kitchen. Unfortunately you cannot open the window, so you just have to sleep in the smell. The carpet was smelly too and it wasn´t comfortable. But it was the cheapest accommodation around. So we survived it. :-)
The location was perfect. It is in the middle of Waikiki. Good price-quality ratio. Good price for the service laundromat.

United StatesRooms are out dated. Renovation to modernize would be nice. Bathroom shower tile had blackened areas. This was not pleasant to see, and not inviting. The refrigerator storage shelves were cracked, but usable.
The bed was very comfortable. FANTASTIC location, easy access to local transportation and restaurants. I really appreciated this. The hotel was very accommodating and granted my special request for being disabled. I use canes for ambulation, and I was close to everything I needed. Thank you.

Germany- Relatively loud due to several reasons, main one being the AC. The Rooms are partly located above a club. I didn’t have any trouble sleeping, but you might want to consider bringing earplugs - Some light switches didn’t work - The carpet just doesn’t give off a very hygienic feeling even though I think it’s clean - Very dated building and very dated rooms and furniture - Some places could have been cleaned a bit more thoroughly, like high windows ills in the bathroom. Found an old razor there in mine. - 250$ deposit in case you break sth. Still need to check if I got it back. I would have liked to be informed about this on booking beforehand - If you’re looking for a nice view, this isn’t your place. It’s convenient, but you mostly look at backyards or the street - No possibility to store luggage, but they point you to the hotel next door where you can store it for a fee
+ located in the center of Waikiki + minute walk to the beach + lots of food and shopping opportunities close by + parasols, beach chairs, beach towels, boogie boards, hair drier etc. can be borrowed for free at the reception. Just return them at the end of your stay + everyone at reception is incredibly helpful and friendly, so is the housecleaning and security staff + was able to check in earlier (around 2pm), after asking about it prior to arrival + quite clean + spacious bathroom and nice kitchen with everything you need + the Murphy bed was super comfy! + at least in my room the shower worked perfectly fine + wifi was quite stable

JapanNothing in particular. Some people say the area is noisy at night and that's true. However, a nightclub downstairs is not necessarily a nuisance for everybody. We can't help the noises because the hotel's in the center of a popular area in Waikiki, where young people enjoy themselves till early in the morning. The club closes at 4:00 a.m. and most people are out at 3:30 a.m.
The location is superb, being just in front of International Market Place. You could walk and find most of what you need, including the beech. The staff were friendly, helpful, and particularly trustworthy when I asked them about the transportation to the airport on our way back home. They do exactly what they are supposed to do. It's a great value to stay there.

United StatesThe room had seen better days. The carpet was really worn and ragged with signs of some water damage in front of the bathroom. The sofa was getting old too. The bed was inside a closet that you pull down when you need to sleep. The bed was obviously not new but was very comfortable actually, felt like a hard futon mattress. A/C was a window unit type that was really loud so you cannot leave it on for too long.
Location was very convenient being located in central Waikiki. I thought maybe it would be noisy at night in the middle of Waikiki but it did not bother me. Many eating options right outside the hotel, within walking distance, so much to choose from. International Market Place was right in front of the hotel.
