Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United Statesthe rooms are quite small, the bathroom is outdated, and the overall maintenance of the building is lacking. Additionally, only two elevators are operational, causing significant delays of up to 30-40 minutes to reach your room.

ArgentinaThe lobby was under construction and had little space. The room had only enough space for clothes and since the bed is large (wonderful) the space around it is small. The bathroom is also small and makes it difficult to close the door. The TV channels cut out and did not work well all the time. I would have liked a little more light in the room.
I liked the bed, the bathroom and the location. The staff was very kind and helpful. They received a package and delivered it to me quickly. They sent me a refrigerator when I requested it. The shower water was perfect. The wifi worked very well.

United StatesThe lobby is a mess; the front desk is in the worst possible place (with a massive pillar blocking people from seeing half the desk), there is no seating for guests, the baggage storage was spilling out of the small closet it's supposed to be in, and there is junk in the corner of the lobby next to the front desk. One of the two people at the front desk - during a rush of check-ins with a long line - sat at his terminal reading instead of checking people in. The public restrooms are actually two re-purposed guest rooms on the 5th floor, with keys that "work for either one" but in reality are only coded for one bathroom or the other - which are labeled Men and Women. A woman walked into the room I was in and pushed the bathroom door open! The lock was broken. Thankfully, I had finished my business and was just washing my hands, but this situation is untenable! A mini-fridge in the guest room would be helpful. And treat your IHG members better!
The bed was comfy. Location was perfect. Water pressure in shower was good.

United StatesRoom was a bit on the small side for the furniture that was in it.
We had a room with a beautiful view of the Empire State Building! It was clean and comfortable but a little in the small side. One woman was looking for a safe to keep valuables but there wasn’t one, but it worked out.

CanadaTheir communication with Booking.com is miserable. I had added an extra night long before but they didn’t have it in their records. They told me I would have to call Booking.com myself to get them to update it, even though my phone was from overseas, and they wouldn’t let me use theirs. Staff at front desk was always stressed and in bad mood, but that was NYC in December, I can comprehend.
The room was clean and comfortable, although small. It was very well located.

NetherlandsThe storage room for bags is very small so before checkin at 3pm and after checkout, all of our bags (and everyone else's) took up the lobby, but bags were carefully watched by one of the employees and they managed/organized it well so that everyone got their right bag.
Friendly professional helpful staff. Room was spacious, updated amenities, comfortable beds. Clean. We could partially open windows (which isn't common in nyc) to get fresh air. Nice Dove soap, shampoo and creams.

United StatesThe first impression walking up to the hotel and the lobby wasn't the best. The room and bathroom were small but adequate. There was no breakfast option onsite.
The price, considering it was a major holiday in a major city, the price we paid was quite reasonable. The location was decent, in that it was close to a major subway line. The bed was comfortable and our room was quite small but clean.
