Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesUnfortunately their is no air conditioning thankfully it was cool at night when i stayed but this could’ve been an issue had it been hotter. The blinds in my unit were broken and therefore did not Allow for any privacy from the vagrants hanging around outside
The studio is comfy. I would definitely stay here again. It had things i needed

United StatesThat the cleaning folk didn't come to clean the room when I left. I had to throw out my trash cause they didn't come to check if I had trash in the room or if the bins were full.

PortugalNot that it’s their fault, but guests should know that the hotel’s quarter gets crowded with homeless people at times, altgouh there was no issue and I never felt actually unsafe.
Very well located, at a walking distance to most San Diego’s tourist attractions, especially Balboa Park.

PortugalNot having a place to sit besides the bed. I stayed in one of the rooms whose window faced the inside of the building. Problem was that the blinders were not fully complete... I could sleep fine but I didnt feel like I had 100% privacy in the entire room area, even if these were shut entirely. And it would be nice to have some USB connections in the room to charge our devices (an european request :))
The staff were super nice! The bed was also quite good and the shower too. Also, the room was equipped with a nice kitchenette, handy!

United StatesStreet parking only, Sparse and subject to San Diego's quirky parking restrictions. I lucked out and got a metered spot at 5:00 pm across from the hotel, so I only had to pay for 1 hour and didn't have to move my car until 8:00 am next morning
Within walking distance of "Little Italy" restaurants. I was in a "Junior suite" outside the main building and easily accessible through the side gate using the electronic room key.

CanadaThe AC in our room (111) didn't really give us cool air & overnight it would get really warm. The ceiling fan helped somewhat but wasn't sufficient. Two suggestions, a light under the upper cupboards to help illuminate the counter space without having the whole room lit would be very helpful & a second chair. Other than that all is good.
Well located, cost efficient & friendly. They managed to accommodate us on a very early check in which was awesome.

United StatesOur queen room was small and just adequate: bed, a chair, no manual AC control except for a ceiling fan, no sink in the bath/shower room, a sink but no soap or towel in kitchenette, the window faced a wall. the junior suite was more pleasant with a balcony, a full bed and a full Murphy bed, but some noise from landing planes was a bother.
the location is their main positive. It's an easy walk to Balboa Park's museums, and well as within a mile to the Midway and Little Italy. kitchenette with fridge, Microwave, Keurig, a couple of plates. the bed was very comfortable. the room was very quiet facing away from the street.

IranThey provided a microwave oven and a coffee machine inside the rooms, but they did not provide chairs and tables, which could have been easily achievable. If we wanted to eat anything in the room, there was no place to sit. Another point was the lack of a handwashing sink in the bathroom, despite there being a large one in the room, which did not make sense. They provided numerous kitchen cabinets in the room that were useless; instead, they could have removed them and simply added one or two tables with two chairs.
Cleanliness, great and supportive staff, location, facilities, and beautiful interior architecture of the hotel.

United StatesWalls are thin, you can hear everything going on in the hallways. The mattress was so uncomfortable and the pillows were not soft. The room and bathroom was incredibly small, I’m 7 months pregnant and had such a hard time going around the bed to go to the bathroom. Even my husband had to waddle around the bed. It was even hard to shower comfortably because the shower was small. No parking, there was also no parking garages near by. We got lucky with street parking nearby but I felt so anxious not having a safe place for my car. Also little Italy is a good 10-15 min walk away. The hotel name is a little misleading. It did not feel like the safest walk to little Italy… The good thing is we only stayed here 1 night and overall it was a clean place to sleep and shower. Next time I’m in SD I would spend that extra $50 to stay at a more comfortable hotel

New ZealandIt was very difficult to gain access through the front door, 1st floor accommodation had no easy access for suitcases, shower was awful - lukewarm water only, absolutely no amenities in room apart from a coffee maker. The lack of after hours arrival information was also a negative & potentially dangerous. Also blazing row from couple in room next door was easily heard!
