Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesNo breakfast
Was disappointed that there was no breakfast. Website indicated there would be breakfast and showed photos of dining room and guests eating. We were not prepared, noe planned for alternate meal. There was just a small note in a welcome book that read "sadly, we are no longer providing breakfast".

United StatesWe truly LOVED everything about the property.
This property is wonderful! Inside it’s lovely! Cozy, clean and so welcoming. And the owners are the nicest people. Outside? Wow, it is INCREDIBLE. So peaceful and calming. The location is 10/10. Just minutes from Ashland and a short drive to Bayfield. After a day of activity, it was a treasure coming back here to this relaxing and beautiful place!

United StatesNo suggestions.
Beautiful rural location. Very peaceful and serene -- interrupted by an occasional bray of a donkey! It had a well-equipped kitchenette and table so we could eat-in. The beds were very comfortable and the whole apartment was very spacious and beautifully furnished.

United StatesLoved it all.
The property was close to Ashland but felt far away from everything. Our loft was wonderful, cozy, well stocked with huge windows and beautiful views. Great value. Fire pit, walking trails. Kelly was a great host with tips on things to see, restaurants, a bit of history. Loved the donkeys!

United StatesIf was a little further out than we had planned but that was our fault for not looking at distances on the map. Still great serene setting and the farm animals quite charming.
It was extremely clean and the access to the room very easy. Key pad instead of key. Our host had emailed the info so even if we would not have seen her when we arrived we could have let ourselves in. The room was really cute - all decorated in bears as a “bear den” should be!

United StatesWe wished our stay was longer and we were closer to Lake Superior. Places by Lake Superior are almost impossible to find and very pricey. This was a good compromise.
We had a campfire breakfast on a Saturday. This was the only breakfast offered due to Covoid. Scrambled eggs, sausage, fresh fruit bowl, ripe cherries, coffee, lots of juices It was a hot Saturday morning and probably would of been better for a cooler morning. It was a very engaging idea, taking a cinnamon donut, brown sugar, butter and pinneappple slice wrapped up in tinfoil to put in fire. Everything was perfect. We would of loved more morning breakfasts. WeI also liked the farm feel of the place, and the pastoral scenery. We loved waking up to beautiful sunrises, little donkeys meandering about, horses, a wooly sheep, the amazing Oliver Aerdale, and little kittens for cuddling. I was able to do yoga on the front porch with the donkeys in the front yard. The couple who own the place are very friendly and helpful and had great ideas for daytrips. You can tell a lot of thought and love has been put into this place.

United StatesWe had to leave…😞
Lovely, peaceful, setting and the home is so well built and beautiful! It is set back well off a quiet road so noise was never an issue. Our room was quite large with excellent appointments. Full bath with everything we might ever need. Decorations were rustic and very tasteful. The hosts felt like dear friends after just a few minutes. Would stay there again without hesitation!
