Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesI had to purchase another room. Because I booked a deluxe queen room that had two queen rooms and a sofa The room can fit five people. But I wasn't aware that they only allowed 4 people in a room. Then the room I had to purchase that night, the air conditioner didn't work. I was hot the two nights I was there. I didn't get a night sleep. Somebody did looked at it and said it was central air. The breakfast was not great Coffee was made by keurig kind. Not enough selection. Didn't have enough space to sit.
Rooms are clean. Front lobby is very clean as well. Quite. Towels are thick and nice. Staff are nice and friendly. The door man was really helpful and professional.

BrazilI made a reservation through Booking.com for Hotel Stanford in Korea Town and had a terrible experience. As a tall person looking for more comfort, I specifically booked a room with a queen bed for me and my wife. Upon arrival, my friends check in before me and got the queen bed room they booked and when I checked in right after, they said I received an upgrade. When I went to see the room, I was surprised to find two standard double beds instead of the queen bed I had reserved. I immediately went back to the front desk to question the room change, as the beds were smaller than what I had booked. I was rudely told that there were no other rooms available and they were fully booked. It was obvious that they didn’t reserve a queen room for me and gave me the last room available trying to mask as an upgrade - what kind of upgrade gives you a smaller bed? After a 12-hour flight and a full day exploring the city, my wife and I had to sleep very uncomfortably in a bed that was too small for us. The next morning, I returned to the front desk to address the issue again. I was told once more that the hotel was fully booked, but that the supervisor, Jeremy, was aware of the situation and would try to resolve it. That night, nothing had been done. On the third day of our stay, I finally managed to speak directly with Jeremy. Unfortunately, he treated us with sarcasm and complete disregard, saying, “I can’t magically make a queen bed appear.” He made little to no effort to assist us, speaking with condescension and repeatedly insisting there was nothing he could do — despite the fact that we had spent two nights in a room that did not match our reservation and had slept poorly. He also claimed that the room was an upgrade because it had a sofa. Since we were out all day and only returned to sleep, a sofa made absolutely no difference to us.
The location was the only good thing about this hotel and there are better options in the region.

United KingdomFirstly, the restaurant for breakfast is nowhere near big enough for the number of people staying there. We varied our breakfast time from as early as 6.30 to 9am, and every time, we had to wait for somewhere to sit. The variety of breakfast items was also very poor, and when you decided what you were having, it was all on paper plates and bowls, plastic cutlery, and paper cups for the hot drinks. The hot drinks were all from two machines, which was time-consuming and absolute chaos, with the number of people wanting to use them. After breakfast, go and queue for the one elevator that can be an age as it collects people coming down to breakfast, then dropping people off afterwards. We even walked all 12 floors on occasion as it was quicker. The only view from our room was a brick wall just feet away from our window, restricting the natural day light
The hotel couldn't have been more ideally situated. It was close to major attractions and even the subway for those attractions a bit further away. Unfortunately, that was the only positive. It was very expensive for what you got inside the hotel.
