This little B&B was the perfect place for us to stay while attending a friend's wedding. It is off the beaten path, but very close to major roadways. The hosts were so helpful and friendly, we felt like we were family when we left. We would definitely recommend that you stay here when visiting Muscatine. You won't be disappointed. Ask for the blueberry scones. They are amazing.

The breakfast was amazing and the hosts were super friendly. A relaxing getaway for our family. The location out on the old farm had lots of playful areas. The town has quite a few breweries, restaurants and many older nicely restored buildings!

We had a room that fit our family of four. They let us know that there was a King bed, with a queen bed loft upstairs, and a couch that could sleep a person. The bed upstairs was actually a double (not queen) and the couch was not large enough to sleep our 10 year old little boy unfortunately. The BnB as a whole looked to be maintained and cleaned, but our rooms/space itself could have used a good sweeping and vacuuming. I'm not a fan of being barefoot in my room and stepping on an unclean floor (dust/dirt in corners and in bathroom and stepped on a Legos under the bed). We did not meet Karl, but Mary was kind and sat with us to have conversation during breakfast. I know it's humid in that part of the US but we both noticed Mary had body odor when we checked in and again at the breakfast table, which was a little off putting.

Mary and Karl were gracious when we let them know in advance we wouldn't arrive until 10-11pm, as we were headed east on a long day of road trip traveling. The quiche for breakfast was very yummy and loved the history throughout the house. Mary was kind to let us take the extra fruit with us on the next leg of our road trip.

The breakfast was very tasty and plentiful. We enjoyed conversation with the hosts as well as with other guests. The room was cozy and clean. They are located outside of the city so you get to enjoy their large back yard with wild turkeys and other birds. They gave us helpful recommendations for restaurants to visit and things to see in town.

Cute with small town charm and wonderful hosts. Breakfast was amazing with good conversation. Hosts assisted me in getting my car fixed before we headed on our way to our next stop.

Could have been better if there were elevator or some sort of thing to help in going upstairs or down stairs from steep stairs. We are not recommending for senior or any one have a physical problem to stay or climbing the steep staircase.

Although we don't eat our breakfast there because we are in hurry to catch up with our schedules. The Very kind and very hospitality owners of this house have us some of good food for our travel.

I didn't find an extra blanket in the closet, but I may not have looked hard enough! Honestly everything was fantastic.

Breakfast was excellent, the room was lovingly decorated, the bed was super comfortable, and I loved that I had my own bathroom. Wifi was excellent and the robe was comfy.

Closets and drawers should be emptied out so guests can use them. While some nice toiletries are appreciated at an B&B, the old stuff left behind by others should be removed.

Sadly this property is past it’s prime. They are charging market rates and it is just not worth the price. The house was cluttered and dirty.

I found brownish beverage rings in the toiletry shelf in my bathroom. The sink was obviously not clean and needed a good scouring. (Consequently, I couldn’t bring myself to use the tub/shower or bath towels.) If I had had time to seek other accommodations, I would have done so. Of more concern was the soiled tablecloth where I was seated for breakfast (not a previously stained cloth but actual food debris AND the dead insect in my filled water glass. (Host had just removed my full water pitcher-after saying “oops, I’ll bring this right back”). I’m not sure if the bug was initially in the pitcher & she didn’t thoroughly empty and wash it or if there was another bug my water glass. In any case, it was disgusting. This B&B has potential to be a lovely country respite in the city but first it needs a thorough cleaning and decluttering with staff that is focused on all the details of what it takes to welcome overnight guests into their home.

Location was quaint with spacious grounds within the city and quiet. Parking was very close to the entrance. Hosts were amiable and pleasant conversationalists. Interesting to learn of the history of the home.
