Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomAir conditioning was a bit noisy and bedsheets were joined together with quilt which made it difficult to get comfortable with the temperature.
Hotel was in perfect position and room was nice and clean with good bathroom with excellent shower. Bed was also nice and comfy. Also liked the cold water station available for free. The Truvo restaurant in the lobby was also excellent.

AustraliaSadly there was only one lift working of two. It was terribly slow and I was on the 7th floor. I opted to take the stairs over the extraordinary wait. They are well appointed wide and fine to tread up and down should you have little luggage. Parking felt quite exposed in parking lot behind.
This was a delightful surprise. The rooms are very tastefully renovated. Modern bright and white. The beds are truly like pillows so soft and an absolute dream To sleep on. Beautiful hotel. Ice and water facilities on the floors. Microwave in room. Very large safe. Worthy of more stars imo post Reno. Great central location .

United StatesThis hotel is a charming, historic building, with rooms that have been nicely updated with beautiful cabinetry, frameless glass shower surround, and high-end tech, such as sophisticated lighting controls and plenty of USB charging ports. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. It was also a nice surprise to find they offered a secure storage room for luggage as I had to check-out hours before leaving for the airport. I would certainly stay here again.

This urban hotel is very comfortable a great place to stay in downtown, close to everything but not too much in the middle of the Gaslamp madness. Modest, yet feels very special.

United StatesThis is an older hotel that despite surface renovations is still showing its structural age. The colors and lighting throughout the hallways and room are a bit gloomy. The room I stayed in was small with no view (windows facing other rooms), but was cozy.
Friendly and fast check-in, great location, comfy bed, basic amenities.

United StatesThe first room we were placed in felt like a dungeon (faced close opposite wall/corner of the building). We asked for a different room and they offered only a $25/night upgrade for a suite. The suite also was dark, on a low floor, and faced AC equipment outside. Finally we got a decent room (higher floor suite). We'd stayed there before and had higher expectations, oh well. Silly thing also, the toilet paper holder kept ejecting the TP roll on the floor (yuck!) due to poor design or installation - needs to be replaced.
Beds were comfortable, location was good. Room was tastefully decorated. Nice bathroom and shower. Plenty of nice towels. Good lighting. Decent chairs/sofa in living room.

Modern refurbed rooms on level 7 - aligned and honouring the heritage hotel. Plenty of USB C and A charge points and power points. Lots of light and white furnishings lifted the room further.

United StatesThe TV did not have a signal for some reason, and the shower had a small lead onto the floor, but both issues were pretty minor. We did not miss not having a TV as the WiFi was excellent.
The staff there was great, very helpful. Always had a greeting for everyone, and the location was close to the Gaslamp Quarter without being too close. There were plenty of places close by for breakfast. We could easily walk to the sites we were there to see, such as the Midway and Seaport Village.

Great location. We've traveled a lot in the past few years, and I have to say this was the best use of space for a smaller room of anyplace we've been in that time. It felt luxurious even though it was compact. The bed was extremely comfortable. Our corner king room was light and bright. Window treatments were attractive and functional. Bathroom areas were attractive. Room lighting was great.
