How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The AC was not working properly in the room and the common areas/ hallways
We had a great time. The location was perfect. Although the hotel is a bit dated, it had all the amenities my kids enjoyed..

The room was quite dark. Odd smell in the room possibly from the AC.
Lovely big pool. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Comfortable bed. Great shower. We enjoyed the breakfast offering.

Small beds. Pull out couch was unconfortable.
Great place. Good breakfast. The pool is warm and can be there until 10pm. Play mini golf all you want.

It was too cold in the night. I turned off the air conditioner because heat didn't work. It charged $20 resort fee per night, but I only stayed one night and had no time or interests to enjoy mini golf or swimming pool. Resort fee should be an optional choice.
Great Location, breakfast wrap is precooked by food industry, but delicious. Love the fresh fruits! Friendly staffs.

The breakfast lounge is small for the potential number of guests. Indoor tables filled quickly and there were lots of wasps outside, which made eating a little uncomfortable. Something placed outside to attract the wasps would be good.
Very nice setting and a good location. Lots of activities in and around the hotel for the kids such as Table Tennis, Mini Golf, Air Hockey.

The pillows were hard and not the most comfortable.
The grounds were beautiful! The pool was huge with a nice splash area for the kiddos. There was plenty to do as a family on the property.

The tub drain backed up. Lack of outlets next to the bed for your personal devices. The lamp switch next to the beds turned on without a problem but would not switch off so I just had to unplug.
The ambiance. The easy access to the colonial area.

Being on the 3rd floor, the ac unit is only in the bedroom and no real fan or anything to keep the cool air flowing . If you shut bedroom door, everything else gets very humid and hot .
Was quiet and relaxing but close enough to everything!

Natalie was great. She remembered us from a prior visit and addressed me by name (using Mrs. which I appreciated). We had a problem with our toilet and she called maintenance right away and by the time we returned it was fixed.

The WiFi did not work properly. And the beds were uncomfortable. However, for the price it was a good weekend .
The hotel was very nice. The staff were very pleasant. The breakfast was nice, and different options. My kids enjoy their self’s.

Limited air conditioning in common areas such as lobby and hallways. Not necessarily a negative for our family, but I can see how it could be quite a walk from the single elevator location to your assigned room.
Lovely facility and nice accommodations. Location close to amusement parks and Colonial Williamsburg.

The restaurant was actually terrible. Unaccommodating. Had virtually nothing to eat and what was available was terrible. Prepackaged garbage. Never again.

There was honestly nothing we didn't like or thought needed attention.
We loved everything about the Woodlands Hotel & Suites. From the comfort room to the delicious breakfast, everything was on point. The pool and the splash pad was the first thing that attracted us ro this particular hotel and it was just as advertised.

Room had a funny smell.

We stood around looking for a place to sit and eat out breakfast. He felt rushed because we didn't want others to have to wait for a table. Our room wasn't cleaned on Saturday. We came in from a long, tiring day to make our own beds and ask for towles.
The breakfast was great. The location was good. The room was quiet. The putt putt course and pool were nice.
