How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Bed was a little firm, but that's personal preference.
Friendly and attentive staff. Very clean, easy access with the convenience of a restaurant on site. The new owners have made lots of great improvements. Can't wait to see what they do next year.

Late arrivals were noisy. But this wasn't the Motel's fault. Walls are a little thin. But motel location is secluded and super quiet.
One of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in. Room was clean and had a Kuerig. TV and refrigerator in room- did not use either. Good WiFi, surprisingly, considering how remote location is.

We stayed in the motel only for one night. We rented two room. It was exceptionally clean, comfortable. Internet was good, coffee in the room, microwave. The owners of this place were very welcoming and accommodating. We spent evening by the fire pit. My kids loved it. There is a swimming pool, we didn’t use it, but it’s a bonus for stay. Breakfast was very good, freshly made on order. I’d definitely come for sometime in the summer to be on the lake near it.

We just wished it was a bit closer to the venue we were attending...The Bank of NH Pavilion in Gilford. It's about 14mi away. Totally worth the sleepy drive late at night though.
The property is well cared for and the rooms are super clean! We adored the attached diner that the owner runs herself. She made fast friends with my man when she never let his coffee cup go empty! We need to know what brand of memory foam topper was on the mattress because it was MORE COMFORTABLE THAN HOME. Located amongst the cutest little lake towns as well. Heaven in the modest country!

Nothing. I was happy with my stay
It was very close to where I needed to pick someone up. The room was clean and comfortable, end really quiet. The breakfast was excellent and priced reasonably. The owner was really pleasant and helpful.

I wanted lake view lol, that’s not their fault and I knew I wouldn’t have it when I booked. But the access to everything was perfect
Great fire pit and breakfast on site. The owner is one of the most friendly people I ever met- she made everything exceptional.

It was unclear where to check in, the main building was locked, but when I rang the Ring doorbell I was able to speak to the host and they came down right away to let us in.
Convenient location to Lake Winnipesaukee. Hosts were friendly and knowledgeable and offered advice on where to go and where to eat. Clean, comfortable rooms.

My daughter stayed in the room next to us & we couldn’t get the tv to work. But it was late when we got in so we didn’t bother calling management. Maybe they need to leave instructions on what you need to do to get it working. It took us awhile to figure our tv also. Other than that it’s a nice, clean, quiet place to stay.
The motel was very clean, though the grout in the bathroom needs a good bleaching. I loved the comfy bedding, coffee maker & plenty of coffee pods available. We hate rushing out to get coffee in the morning. Not having anyone above you is a total plus especially for a very light sleeper. The restaurant attached was very good & reasonably priced. It’s great having a decent place to eat without driving especially for breakfast.

Wonderful room and the new owners are great. The room was very spacious and clean. The beds had a extremely puffy bed topper. I fell asleep with no issues. Just beware that there is no cell service but their WiFi is very good.

Nice, comfortable motel for our family of four. Loved having our car right outside our room and the sweet breakfast restaurant right there. The reviews are correct: the people are lovely. We came back drenched after a lacrosse tournament. The owner not only wrung out and dried our sopping wet picnic blankets, but folded them back into their pockets! You can see that they enjoy what they are doing and are making a real effort to make a fun place. Great area!
