How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Maybe the aircon a bit more powerful
The room was absolutely fine. Location was a little bit far out from visiting family but was ok I should have done my research a bit better. It was great that the room was sound proofed. Breakfast was really lovely. Staff very nice

Wifi wasn’t working well. Sometimes you could hear noises and there was no direct light in the room

The TV could have done with some apps such as Netflix or prime.

The staff are INCREDIBLY kind & helpful. from the reception, security guard, restaurant staff even the cleaning service, they are all very kind & professional, especially the reception staff, they go above & beyond. GREAT hospitality 100/100, best hotel staff so far. They are very knowledgeable, they would give information for things to do around the old quarter, the recommended restaurant & activities, they sell the sim card with cheap price as well. The location is PERFECT, exactly at the heart of old quarter, i could go anywhere i want just in walking distance. even to the hoan kiem lake & the hanoi opera house just 5 minutes walking. I could find all the best restaurant & shopping place nearby, from the famous banh mi, bun cha, pho, met vietnames resto etc. And you must try the spa/massage, they are great! Perfect hotel, even much better than 5 star hotel. Great value, i would stay in this hotel again if i come back to Hanoi!

There was nothing to not like.
The entire experience at this hotel was exceptional. They are the most friendliest and accommodating team. The decor throughout was tastefully done, bed comfortable, awesome pressure of water in the shower, aircon clean and worked efficiently. Breakfast staff were amazing as well and so were all staff. Thanks so much for this stay. Location was right in the Old Quarter and was an oasis from the outside bustle. Highly recommend.

Some things were just not 10/10 updated, like the shower leaked a bit or my key card malfunctioned. But very small, minor details.
Good location! Very, very nice staff, super friendly and helpful. Came with great recommendations for food and activities around the old quarter and beyond!

Everything! We stayed here earlier on our trip to Hanoi and went away for a visit to Ha Long Bay before returning again. We were able to leave our luggage in their storage room whilst we were gone. Happy with everything!
