Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ItalyThey didn’t empty the trash can in the toilet when they cleaned the room. And what we didn’t really appreciate was that the host didn’t advise us properly with the excursion we would have liked to do and we ended up spending a lot of money and saw things were not worth the visit.
The location is really nice with a beautiful view of the rice fields. Food was delicious. The rooms were spacious and clean, the bed was comfortable.

GermanyThe location is very quiet. The houses are not directly in the center of the town although you can walk or take the bicycle (or motorbike) to go there. The pool is nice and with a wonderful view. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. They make specials for breakfast and dinner if you ask for vegan options.

AustraliaGreat views of the rice paddies. We stayed in the family bungalow which was the end of the walkway and very private. The owners and staff were very friendly. Breakfast was good and offered a variety of choices with fruit included. It’s a short walk to nearby restaurant and bar.

Cozy, authentic place in the middle of rice fields. The whole area is excellent for walking or biking. The staff is super kind and helpful, there's a pool to refresh yourself during the hot days, 2 breakfast options and unlimited drinking water. They even organise shared dinner which is a fabulous opportunity to meet other fellow travellers. Highly recommended!

GermanyOverall the best place where I stayed in Vietnam. I rented the bungalow for one night and one night a bed in the dorm, which was simple but with a queen size bed. The location is amazing, very quiet, peaceful, with a beautiful view on the rice fields. The place is perfect to meet new people. The pool was great, the breakfast offers different choices, and they had freed bicicles to ride around. The staff is always nice and helpful with the organisation of further trips. I loved it!

AustraliaOutside of the main town, this family run homestay - hotel is scenic, peaceful, well maintained and comfortable. Beds are firm, showers are good. Rooms are big, clean and spacious. The pool is great for relaxing on those hot days. There are free bikes to use, but they are not well maintained. You might need to hire from next door. The food served is exceptional for dinners; and there are free, good but limited options for breakfast. The main town of Mai Chau is not worth visiting, but the smaller local villages are cute and easy to ride around. Hosts are friendly and kind. Be prepared as this homestay only accepts cash. They do not have card facilities. We have a wonderful and relaxing stay here. Highly recommend.

United KingdomNothing bad to say. Would book again in a heartbeat.
My favourite homestay I have been to in SE Asia. Staff are amazing, great breakfast included with choices. It’s just heaven, in the middle of rice fields, the pictures really don’t do it justice! The dorm is so comfortable but private rooms overlook rice fields and are real show stoppers! Amazing family style meal each night, book this property!!!

AustraliaNothing. All excellent.
We loved the beautiful, natural setting here. Better than many we saw in the Mai Chau area. Perfect location for walking or bike riding along concrete roads through rice fields, with drink stops on the way. Huong is a very hospitable host, who arranged our bus transfer to Ninh Binh to collect us at the homestay A good complimentary breakfast with fresh fruits and choice of dishes. Our bungalow were very comfortable, with an open balcony with rice field views. And a lovely pool. The group shared dinner was provided for a reasonable extra price, and was generous with a good variety of dishes.

SpainI had to make some videocalls, and the WiFi was not strong enough at times. However, there's excellent Viettel coverage, so you can hotspot while on your laptop.
We went there in March, and the views were astonishing. Green rice fields, no matter where you look at. We couldn't try the pool as it was a bit too cold, but it looked amazing. There's a basic gym you can use free of cost—a place to chill and enjoy the views.

FranceHear plugs if you are a light sleeper, because you have the nature all around you. But that's it!
I had a wonderful stay! It's truly a little piece of paradise on earth this homestay! The food was amazing, and it's really the perfect place to meet other travelers! My bungalow was really cool, and matched perfectly the pictures and descriptions. You can reach most things by foot, but it's mostly a really cool place to chill out a bit and recharge your batteries! That is what I did!
