Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsRoom showed signs of humidity in the mountains, could have been cleaner. It is not possible to pay with card so bring enough cash.
Nice quiet place with a great view. Rooms are nicely decorated. Friendly and accomodating family (and a very cute kitten), albeit that communication was sometimes a challenge as not all speak English. We could rent a motorbike and arrange a hike with a local guide (which was great but pretty intense!).

Sri LankaNo complaints at all.
Located in a stunning area overlooking a mountain range & part of a village. It looks beautiful at anytime of the day! The property is so well done with a touch of minimalist, classiness and most importantly including the rich beautiful culture they have in SaPa. The owner, Jack had done up the whole place and it was mesmerising to see a wonderful home stay like this in this area. He looked after us really well. He organised us to be picked up from SaPa center and a scooter to commute. Served some of the best food and coffee we have tasted so far in Vietnam. I was celebrating my birthday & went out of his way to decorate the dinner table to make it special. Recommend anyone to visit and stay here, you will not regret it.

United KingdomINCREDIBLE!!! Everything was amazing from the scenery to the service. Beautiful setting which could never get boring and looked amazing in rain, cloud and sun. Jun the receptionist was outstanding and went out of her way many times to provide exceptional service. She personalised foods for us being vegetarian and each meal was delicious!!! She was so kind and a pleasure to see around the accommodation. The dogs and adorable kitten made our stay, we fell in love instantly, they are so cute and I wish I could have taken them away with me. Honestly I don’t think I will ever stay in a place as great as this. It was magical from the beginning to the end, we extended our stay and I could definitely stay there forever. You won’t be disappointed. Thank you Pavi and Jun xx

United StatesDefinitely less services, shops, etc in this area but we loved that. Highly recommend.
This is an absolutely gorgeous hotel at an amazing price. I would absolutely recommend it. It is so stylish and pretty in every corner. Sitting on the porch or in the garden is an absolute dream. They made us juices with no sugar (YAY). This location is a bit further outside Sapa and very quiet. I did a long walk all through the village and everyone was so friendly and sweet and not one person tried to sell me anything. We tried the restaurant up the road and it was delicious. We had dinner at Pavi… no veggies come with the meat dishes so definitely order some if you order meat. Host was very helpful. The view from the bed was insane.

BelgiumIt smells a bit musty in the room, like humidly, but that's common in the mountains. The room could've been a bit cleaner. There was dust on the top edge of the bed and a few cobwebs. The pillows were flat. The portions for dinner may be bigger and contain vegetables as well, for us.
It's a 30 minute drive from Sapa centre, in the middle of nature. The view from the room and terrace is very beautiful! The cutest dogs and kitten are living here! The host, Jun, is very friendly and tries to accommodate to everything you need. She made sure we had breakfast at 5:30 a.m. before taking the bus, which is very appreciated. They also offer lunch and dinner options. We ate dinner twice and it was tasty and nice. The room has a beautiful, cozy decor.

The best homestay I've ever experienced. It had a quiet and cozy atmosphere, with friendly dogs and cats. The food was very delicious, and the view was absolutely stunning. The owner was outstanding and gave us insider hiking tips. The hospitality and warmth made it feel like a home away from home. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

United KingdomThe room was a little bit cold. The hot water wasn't amazing, but fine.
Lovely location, it's a bit away from Sa Pa which we knew and wanted, the view from the room and terrace is amazing. The staff were very friendly; whilst there was a range in English-speaking, the host who spoke excellent English was always available on phone. They arranged a walking tour for us, and also advised on walking routes when we didn't want a guide.

LatviaA bit moist but of course there is not much they can do about it as that is the climate in Sapa. When booking consider location - a bit further away from Sapa but there are many hiking trails around.
The staff was very nice and breakfast was tasty. Room was nicely decorated. They can organise pickup or taxi anytime you need.

The place was amazing. we arrived very late at night at the SaPa bus station (around 3am) and the owner arranged a taxi for us to get to the place for a very reasonable fee. It's the best place i stayed in my vietnam tour. A breathtaking view of the mountains you can see from your room. And they have a restaurant with good food and a great vibe. The owner and all the staff there, were very friendly and very very helpful. We had a great time there. Definitely visit again. Loved the cute cat and dog playing around the place

IndonesiaThe location is great with a wonderful view across the valley. The bedroom was lovely, beautifully decorated and the blankets kept us warm even though it was freezing at night. The food in the restaurant is excellent. Pavi has recently opened a restaurant, Pavi Garden, about 3km from the property and we stopped there after our village tour. It also serves great food with the added bonus of friendly cats who will sit on your lap. We enjoyed our stay with Pavi very much and highly recommend Pavi Home.

SingaporeThe water pipe has weird sound coming out. It’s far from town, I spent a lot on transportation fee, that’s the cost to see mountain view.
I like it when I am able to see the nice mountain view right after I wake up. It’s far from town and takes about 30mins to be town. Pepsi is very friendly and helpful, she helped me book the biker and driver when I going out to town.

CanadaPavi home has a beautiful atmosphere. The staff is extremely accommodating and helpful. They taught us how to make spring rolls and we shared in a hot pot meal with them. This was an experience not usually offered but they did for us because we asked. They also helped arrange our trek and taxis to and from Sa Pa.
