Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

VietnamIt’s a bit distant from the center but quiet and peace, a grab ride could compromise. The room is spacious and clean, a bit beyond my expectations. The staff were very nice and helpful. There are bikes which you can use for free which is so nice. Would definitely come back if I ever visit Hue again

BelgiumLama homestay is a really peaceful place, offering comfort and whiteness in busy Hue. Our host Thanh was very kind. The room and bathroom were very comfortable, big and clean. There was nice jazz music in the house. We could borrow bikes to explore the city. The breakfast homey and very nice: toast with egg and jam, coffee, tea, cereals and banana. We enjoyed our stay. I would definitely recommend!

Germany- Easy communication - We could rent a scooter for 130k per day and were allowed to park it in front of the house - Free water refill - Spacious rooms with AC - Option to pay with credit card - We did not make use of it, but guests can use the washing machine and dryer for a small fee - Breakfast was very good as well. Practically the housekeeper prepared everything for us, but the concept is that the guests help to fry the eggs for example to enhance the feeling of a homestay. We enjoyed that. We got coffee, toasts, eggs, jam, peanut butter, bananas and a different fresh fruit everyday for breakfast.

SpainThe street is a bit dark and in a lesser neighborhood but despite this I walked alone at night without problems. Darkening curtains would make it just perfect.

This was so unexpected! Treated us like family despite not speaking much English. The room was exceptional and the lady cleaned it twice a day and provided us with everything necessary! Aircon was amazing, bathroom was incredible. Free laundry facility on the roof!! The roof has a swing as well and gives a lovely sunset view. Her breakfast was nice as well!

AustraliaNice friendly staffs. It was comfortable to stay and felt like home. Clean room and amenities were better than hotels. The property was in a local quiet area outside of hassle and buzz which was relaxing. There are little local restaurants, cafe and bars, none touristic which we wanted to have experience too.

SpainWe loved everything
Oanh (the aunt and caretaker of the house) was sooooo soooo lovely and kind she really made our stay!!! It felt like we were at home and she really took so good care of us, we are really grateful, she was the best of the best. On top of that the room and the whole homestay was great and clean with all the amenities we could wish for. They provide free bicycles, you can rent a scooter with them, they give you a good free breakfast and clean your room everyday. So we can say this was the best stay we had in Vietnam and we stayed in lots of places. We really recommend it!!! Thank you Oanh 😘😘😘

VietnamMay be the car parking is not convient. But if you come by taxi or bike it’s not an issue at all.
The big guest room where my children play all evenings. The kitchen with all things I need to cook noodle or reheat the breads. It’s not central where you feel luxury but in a residence place where you can just walk out and there are all groceries and local food stalls around.

NetherlandsJust one thing I was a bit worried about : the mold on the ceiling. So I slept with my window open.
The Homestay was a bit of the beaten track. Upside is the quietness in the evening. The Homestay is nicely decorated, it's new and cosy. The staff is friendly, she doesn't speak English but does excell in googletranslate, so communication works well! You can have breakfast there. She makes it for you or you can make it yourself. The owner does speak English well and can help you with restaurants and bicycle rental. They have bikes, so you don't need to rent those. The room, shower, fresh fruit is great.
