Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Canada"Fully furnished kitchenette" limits itself to fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle and plenty of cutlery and plates/bowls. Food tend to desapear. You can't access wi-fi or your local data plan inside the building with the bedrooms. You have to go outside / in the bar to surf online. If you need a high speed wi-fi, you can buy a plan from the management. This establishment is a sport bar where you can rent rooms, more than a hotel with a bar. To fully enjoy yourself, you have to plan to enjoy the bar, its drinks and menu, rugby/cricket games and the music.
Dan agreed to change my dates twice to help me cope with the airline changes. It is clean.

United KingdomThere was some sort of animal making noise in the tunnel thing at the top of my room on a few occasions.
The rooms and facilities were basic but very clean and well maintained representing great value for money! The outdoor space with the pool, bar and balcony was a fantastic space to relax, socialise, eat and drink. All of the staff and other customers were super friendly. Would definitely recommend this place to friends and other backpackers and would stay here again.

United StatesThere is no AC in the bunk bed rooms, and it's living on your own (no staff to find before 11 a.m. or after 11 p.m. A so had multiple things taken from the communal fridge, so be careful of what you put in it.
It is excellent value and more lively during the season. The staff is amiable, and it's about a 15-minute walk from the central part of town.

SingaporeNot the fault of the property but the other guests in the rooms along the hallway tend to ‘overexert’ the force required to open and close the doors of their respective rooms, the noise is not too much of an issue for me but may be for the lighter sleepers
Nice quiet location yet still walkable to the town centre. The patio in the main area overlooking the lagoon is a nice place to chill at. Clean room and friendly local staff at the counter.

United KingdomThe free wifi didn't reach my room. It was very frustrating to have to sit by the door in order to get connection. As said previously, the food was a little expensive, especially for what you got.
The communal area provided the perfect place to meet new people, bolstered by the events held there. Spoke to many people from many different places. The food was good, if a little expensive. Rooms were comfortable and useful, coming with plenty of supplies.

GermanyThe bar is just in front of the room and can be very loud. It looks like it is a very popular place among the expats, so you can never be lonely or bored if you travel solo. The good thing is, the music stops around 11 pm, so it was bearable.
The studio is really big, the internet in rooms is great, especially for Vanuatu, hot showers, the complimentary welcome package was a nice touch. The location is close to the shops and places to eat in Port Vila. For the beach, you have to go to the other resorts, but we knew that.Great selection of movies to watch on the TV. Actually, it is not a real TV, but more like in-flight media entertainment.Even better and highly appreciated on a rainy day.

United StatesHousekeeping upon checkout, bed was very hard, no one to speak to until after 10am everyday, 5 percent credit card fee, food takes an hour or longer to receive, loud music during the day and or loud noises from the TV's at night.
Large room. Very clean. Loved the free welcome snacks. Nice views. Friendly owners and nice staff. Food was delicious! 15 minutes walk to town and supermarkets. In room, mini kitchen was a plus! Rooms amenities were well thought out.

Dan was a lovely host. He promptly answered questions online with helpful info about the island. We really appreciated knowing the cost of taking the bus to/from airport (300) and around town (200). He hosts events like trivia on Wednesday. When the microwave broke in our room, he replaced it as soon as could with another one. The location is about a 15 minute walk from town and the markets. The retreat is in a neighborhood called seaside which gives a nice local feel. Thanks for a great stay. We recommend this spot for a nice room, good location and lovely host.

AustraliaStrangely it became quite cold at night and there were no blankets.
The owner family of the property made me very welcome and became like family to me. They included me in local expatriate (European) life and activities. They made my 70th birthday about the best birthday that I have had, with their generosity and company. They brought single backpacker guests together and that made for the highlight of the trip to Vanuatu.

it’s a alright place for the price and close to the centre. no access to the beach but for the price it’s ok. I had a room without a window that you could open what give maybe a little bit claustrophobic feeling. there is a little kitchen with a fridge and microwave what you can use and every night there is something to do if you are up for it

Lovely staff and nice atmosphere. There's a full bar so you can meet people and socialise even if you're solo. My bed was comfy and bathroom/toilets/kitchen are all clean and well equipped!
