Unfortunately the location in the hills makes it challenging to walk to the town center...so you need a car even for short movements, as there are not restaurants or shops at walking distance. Also there is no private wifi at the hotel - you can use 200mb free wifi provided by the town, and after that you have to purchase. That is not very cool given the standard of the hotel!

The whole concept of the guesthouse - ecological construction, environmental friendly, beautifully located in a hilly nature reserve. Amazing experience! The views of the sea and the surroundings are overwhelming. The breakfast was abundant and delicious.

Not as impressive as at first sight.Lots of issues in the room and didn't live up to 4 star at all. Tv didn't work, sea view badly impaired by trees, shower column was wobbly and crooked, soap tray likewise. Random bit of broken plastic attached to bathroom wall. Breakfast wasn't great. Chef can't cook poached or fried eggs to requirements.

It's quirky with the boardwalk setting

Our time here was great! The view was fantastic. The room was a bit tiered though, the shower really leaked badly, a self was falling down in our room, and one of the floor boards gave away on the deck. But all in all it was a was an amazing view and a great beach! Visit the Thai restaurant!

There are a lot of steps up to the property and the bathroom was a bit tired.

The room was basic and clean and being perched high up on the hillside afforded us lovely views of wilderness. Breakfast was good and featured all the things you would normally expect. Very peaceful.

the price appearing in Booking was supposed to be a super discount (like 40% off) therefore we were expecting a high standard space (when we arrived there we saw that it was actually the normal price, no discount or anything). The room was meh, there was stinky rust under the sink. I left a towel on the floor to be cleaned, and caught the lady putting them again like if it was clean.. The location is not good and they DO NOT have wifi. I would not repeat neither recommend this place.

The team providing the lunch was very kind

Room does not live up to expectations and feels abit tired and lack lustre. eg: patio furniture needs attention, couch seating worn through, bed and base should be replaced (noisy and uncomfortable), shower unit loose on wall and shower door does not seal properly. Deep clean of bathroom required. Resent paying extra for cappuccino at breakfast that comes from the same self help coffee machine as the regular coffee.

Location and views are amazing. Easy walking distance to restaurants and village centre. Very friendly and helpful staff.

The toaster didn't work, the fridge was too cold and froze at the back, the microwave randomly beeped all night (the first night) and kept waking us up (we did unplug it thereafter and had no more problem with it). The bed was cozy, but could do with being a little bit bigger & the bathroom towels are in serious need of replacing. The list of facilities did mention a heater, but we could not find one. In the end we didn't actually need one, once under the bed covers & blanket which kept us warm. But please be aware, none of these negatives made the stay any less enjoyable!! It's a beautiful place worth staying at!

It has the most AMAZING view!! It is a quiet location (no traffic noise or noise from the town). You can only hear the sea. Fantastic size of unit. Spacious and airy. The fireplace in the lounge is lovely in winter to sit around and warm up. It warms the whole lounge/dining/kitchen area. We went to relax for a long weekend and we definitely did get to do that. Thank you

We only stayed over on our way home to Cape Town but it was well worth the stop. We booked a self-catering chalet higher up. It was a bit of a climb but didn't require any level of special fitness. Having porters take up luggage was a definite advantage so we could enjoy the view on the way. The chalets are spacious, allowing tranquil privacy.

We stayed at the Boardwalk Lodge on the first night of our holiday. The location was great as we were able to venture out to other beautiful places in the area. The staff were very pleasant and helpful in providing suggestions of things to do in the area. In particular, one of the female staff gave us a local restaurant recommendation in Mossel Bay which was one of the best meals we have ever eaten. We will definitely stay here again, and this time for more than one night!

We didn't get the views of the sea as our room was lower in the resort. Recommend booking a chalet higher. Easy to walk into Wilderness - lots of restaurants BUT very dark returning until you reach resort

Very nice pool area with good quality furniture. Staff were very good and helpful but not enough of them - particularly at breakfast time. Buffet dishes empty but quickly refilled on request. Manager particularly helpful.

Very hard to access, dangerous stairs. TV unable to work. Breakfast not that great. Shower difficult to work.

    View. Room layout.
